The History of Our Thunderbird
William Bradley the owner of the Ford dealership in Olathe, KS bought my 1956 Ford Thunderbird from it’s owner back in 1976. The car was in great condition and Mr. Bradley loved it so much that he put it on display in his showroom for everyone to see. Mr.Bradley’s loved this Thunderbird so much that each year, he would have the Thunderbird hauled to his Ford dealership in Lake Havasu, AZ, where he would spend his winters, and put it on display at the dealership for everyone to appreciate. The Thunderbird travelled with him and stayed in his collection until his death.
With a little luck and great timing, Ipurchased Mr. Bradley’s Thunderbird from his estate approximately six years ago, in the condition that it was in. As the owner of the World Famous Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, I needed an incredible car for our James Bond Themed wedding. Of course, Mr. Bond never drove a Thunderbird, but there are some similarities to his convertible Aston Martin, and I thought the Thunderbird is a much nicer looking car all around. The 1956 Thunderbird, the same exact model and color as mine, was in the movie American Graffiti and driven by Suzanne Somers. Although it was a minor scene, it made such an impact that Revell, the toy model company, created a version of it called “American Graffiti The Mysterious Blonde’s ‘56 Ford Thunderbird.”
My 1956 Ford Thunderbird has always been loved and cared for, and when it was not driven to our Wedding Chapel for the James Bond Themed Wedding, it is covered and stored in my garage in Las Vegas, Nevada. It has 33,005 miles and has essentially been a “museum piece” since 1976.
