1970 Ford Mustang Additional Info:
I'm currently moving some cars around and figured I'd see if there's any interest in this car before I stash it away again. To say that its rare is an understatement! Ford produced roughly 7,000 convertibles in 1970 about the same number as Boss 302's which is %5 of Mustang production. The majority of 70 convertibles had 6 cylinder or 302 engines in them. If you look at the Marti report you'll note that 4 of the 5 statistics are under 1,000 cars. But what makes this particular pony so rare is that its one of 174 factory shaker convertibles built that year! Red paint with a black top and black hood stripe with the shaker up front, this car restored will be extremely valuable and desirable (not to mention a blast to drive!). For the bad, it will need complete restoration, a lot of sheet metal work, floors and rear frame rails being the worst of it. It comes with the convertible top frame but will need a new cover. The seats and most of the interior are missing. I do not have a title for it.The good, the front frame rails and front end of this car is very clean and solid. The firewall, fender aprons, hood, radiator support are also nice. The 351 Cleveland engine (2v matching #'s) turns over but will need some TLC to get running but should be easy to do. It has a 9 inch rear with 3.00 gears and an FMX automatic transmission. This car has never been restored and is mostly bare stock unmolested. Buyer will be responsible for pick up and or shipping but I'm willing to work with buyer's shipper for pick up, it does roll easily. Also I can deliver within the New England area fee can be worked out with buyer after payment depending on location. I prefer cash on pick up but may work with some one if they are overseas though the car will not leave until payment is made and / or clears . Thanks for looking, please ask questions! Don't miss out, an opportunity on a rare vintage Stang like this doesn't come around every day!I am open to offers but I'm not going to give it away, like I said earlier I'll just put it back in hibernation.
