Up for sale is a very nice 1966 fastback "A" code GT. I purchased this vehicle about a year ago as a nut and bolt restored vehicle. IT IS NOT, it is a very nice 51 year old car with alot of work that has been done to it. The following have been replaced:- New rebuilt 289- Rebuilt 3 speed automatic transmission- New wheels- New Tires- New Tuff Stuff one wire alternator- New starter- New Champion radiator with electric fan- New billet aluminum pulleys- New starter solenoid- New gas tank- New LED turn signals- New LED brake lights- New headlights with LED amber halos- New carpet- New upholstery- New dash pad- New headliner- New shocks- New sway bar bushings- New exhaust- New vacuum booster and dual bowl master cylinder- Front disk / rear drum brakes
I bought this car as my lifelong dream car, but my military profession doesn't allow for me to keep it due to duty station rotations. I hate to let it go, but I have driven it maybe 100 miles since I purchased it. New motor and rebuilt trans have less than 30 miles on them and still new initial timing dialed in. I personal don't like the new brake booster feel, to be completely honest it scares me. If I keep the car, I will remove the vacuum booster and just go with a dual bowl master cylinder set up like it came with from the factory. This is a really nice car, NOT a blue chip blue ribbon winner. A true 51 year old American pony car. Due to the cooling aspect of these mustangs I removed the new Scott Drake mechanical fan and just installed an electric fan, but will be more than happy to include the mechanical one with spacer. I also upgraded the dim tail lights to bright LED lights along with the turn signals. The xenon headlights with led halos wraps it all together.
