1968 Mustang Big Block Convertible
This is a rare and authentic 390 S code Mustang convertible. The car features the original 390 engine and C-6 transmission and 3.0 standard axle. The entire drivetrain is numbers matching. The engine and transmission have also been rebuilt to stock specifications and have less than 2,000 miles on the rebuild. The car has a new top on it and is power. The paint is new and in excellent condition. This has always been a California car and thus had no rust or rot at the time of repaint. Note that the car has a fiberglass “Shelby Style” hood and trunk, but the original hood and trunk are still with the car and were painted at the same time. All the chrome and trim are in great condition. The car has chrome GT wheels on it now, but I still have the original hub caps. The interior is original and in excellent condition. The car is so original that it still has the dealer’s license plate frame and a coveted California Black license plate.
I ran a Marti report on the car that confirms it is fairly rare for a Mustang. Of 25,385 convertibles only 676 had this engine and 353 had this paint / trim code. In fact, the 390 was the biggest motor available for the Mustang until later in the year when the 428 Cobra Jet was introduced. This car was an earlier car built in December of 1967.
This car is simply a great, reliable driver and also show quality. Everything operates flawlessly. A convertible Mustang is fun to drive, but a big block adds a whole new dimension.
Car is available for your inspection or by a third party of your choice. Car is sold as-is and there is no warranty expressed or implied.
