1982 Ford Mustang 2-door Additional Info:

THE BOSS IS BACK!! This car marked the return of the Mustang GT and this is a fine example to represent it. I recently obtained this 1982 Mustang GT - with the 302 V8 HO engine - 4 speed manual transmission - desirable T-Top option and TRX wheel package. It's always been a CA car - so no rust to speak of. The car has an interesting history. I purchased from the family of an older female who had owned the car since it was only a few years old. Originally the car was bright red. Apparently she always preferred the medium red GT color so in 2001 she had the car fully restored at the cost of $20,000(I didn't believe it either until I saw all of the receipts and photos taken of the restoration - which will be included). The restoration included removing / rebuilding the engine and transmission - all body panels removed(front and rear bumpers, fenders, doors, etc.) the interior was redone at that time as well. The shop did a nice job because 16 years and about 13,000 miles later, the car still looks excellent. The paint has a beautiful gloss - looks great aside from a few blemishes. After warming up, the car runs very strong and shifts through all 4 gears without any grinding. The engine is healthy - car just passed the CA Smog test this week. The car has a clear CA title and a current registration in my name. All gauges and lights are working(except for the fog lights). The car has only been driven about 200 miles in the last two years so even though you can drive the car, as is, the car would benefit from a tune up / carb adjustment, etc for better performance. I had the front calipers replaced along with new front rotors / pads and wheel bearings packed. The rear brakes were also adjusted. The ride could be smoother just by replacement of the 4 matching 1980's Michelin TRX 220/55 VR390 tires. I was going to replace them but I figured the tires were excellent proof of the low 53,000 original miles on the car. My assumption is the new owner will either pay up for replacement TRX tires or upgrade to a new wheel/tire package. I have tried to price the vehicle with a reasonable buy it now price - and a very low reserve considering the overall condition of the vehicle. With a little TLC this is going to make an excellent buy for someone for a car that is only going to go up in value considering the year(1st year return of the GT), low miles, rust free straight body and desirable options.
