This1940 Ford Deluxe Convertible isa true pre-war survivor. It is a “turn-key”, “numbers matching”, piece of American Automobile History! This beauty had a full, frame-off restoration in the late 80’s and has been driven less than 1500 miles since then. It has 89,526 on the working odometer. It has always been stored in a heated/climate controlled garage and it has never even seen rain or water since its restoration. It was only taken out for the occasional car show, parade, or a very rare Sunday cruise. It is always the main attraction at any event.

When the restoration was done, this Deluxe was painted in the Original Ford “Washington Blue” color. It blends perfectly with the tan/brown Deluxe interior and tan top. As you probably already know, this is a Deluxe model and has all of the bells and whistles and added luxury options/trim that it came with from the factory and has all original Ford parts.

It is powered by the original Ford Flathead V8 that came with the car when it was purchased new in 1940 and it purrs like a kitten. It has the 3-speed manual shifter on the steering column (three-on-the-tree). The clutch works fine and it shifts throughout all gears flawlessly. It has the original 6-volt system and all lights work properly. It starts, runs, and drives as it should. It also a factory heater located under the front dash.

The tan convertible top is in perfect shape with no stains, rips or tears. The hardware is also in excellent condition and all snaps, hooks, etc. are all original and all there. You can ride flawlessly in style with the top up or down.

Of course, as with any used/older vehicle, the Deluxe is being sold "as is" without any implied warranty or guarantee. Remember, it had it’s restoration in the 1980’s but the paint still shines beautifully. There are some very small/minor chips here and there as expected with a vehicle of this age. The white-wall tires are in good shape. It has a newer master brake cylinder and all four new wheel cylinders and brake shoes. It’s the perfect car for regular use or to sit in a showroom to show it off. I’m not sure how many all-original, “numbers matching”, pre-war 1940 Ford Deluxe convertibles there are left like this.

I prefer a local pickup, but if shipped, shipping will be the sole responsibility of the buyer. I will physically assist with meeting the driver/transport company to make sure it gets loaded and safely on its way, but any and all shipping costs are the purchaser’s responsibility.I may be able to deliver (on a rollback or trailer) within a reasonable distance.
