1972 Ford F-100 Sport Custom Additional Info:
True Barn Find - Original State of Georgia Certificate of Title1972 Ford F100 Ranger Sport Custom Short Bed Truck
This truck was recently rescued from a barn in Georgia after theowner had refused to part with it for almost 30 years. The brake and fuel systems were gone through and with a little tuning the original 302 v8 idles and runs nice and smooth. This truck runs and drives great and has good power. Runs out well and straight down the road. Steering is nice and tight.
The body has had one repaint many years ago and is extremely straightwith all of the original trim in place. Original Ford West Coast Side Mirrors. There is surface rust and rust in a few places of the body but the frame and chassis are intact. There is rust on the left and rightbottom edges of the hood, on the lower right of the bed between the door and rear wheel, on the bed floor behind the driver side and the tailgate has rusted on the bottom and at the hinge on the passenger side to where it is not attached to the hinge when opened. Floor pans are solid with only a few pin holes on the passenger side. Both sides were cleaned with a wire wheel, treated, primed and painted.
So having pointed out the rust spots, it is also important to mention that this truck does not have the typical rust areas found onthese old f100's. For example the cab mounts are all in excellent condition as are the rockers, fenders, cab cornersand rear quarters.
As for the interior, the bench seat was just reupholstered using correctmaterials fromFord and it looks and feels better than new at a cost of $587. The old dash pad was removed, revealing the factory metal dash which is in beautiful condition. The gauge cluster lens was replaced new. Door panels, vinyl flooring, visorsand headliner are originals. Factory jack accessories are under the seat and the jack is under the hood.
The factory AM radio is not working although it lights up with the light switch. All exterior and interior lights are working. All gauges are working. The horn does not work. Seat belts retract properly on both sides and windows go up and down smoothly. Windshield has a crackbehind rear view mirror to the left (not in line of drivers vision). New rubber door seals have been installed.
