1935 Ford Other 3-Window Coupe Concours Additional Info:
After nearly 20 years of dealing in high-end classic cars, I have seen literally dozens of early 30's-era Fords of every type, style & design. Rarely do I come across an example these days that truly blows my mind. Well, let's just say that my mind has been completely BLOWN! 'Red Hills Rods & Classics' is thrilled to offer you this award-winning Concourse restored 1935 Ford 3-Window Coupe, built & restored to the highest standards possible! This outstanding Ford Coupe is all original FOMOCO Henry Ford steel and was the recipient of a no expense spared Concours quality frame-off rotisserie restoration in 2013. When the extensive restoration was completed, it was then sold to Lane Myers from Salt Lake City, Utah. After receiving the car, Lane was extremely impressed w/ the quality but he decided that he wanted to take his Ford Coupe to an entirely new level, so he brought the car to Thunderstruck Hot Rods for a complete tear down & total rebuild in the style of the 50's-era Hot Rods. The process took three years to complete, and the final result is nothing short of breath taking! Let me tell you folks, they just don't come any nicer than this! The original Ford steel is laser straight all the way around the car and countless man-hours were spent to make sure that all body panels and gaps are precise. The horn holes in the front fenders were filled for a smoother look. The Coupe was finished in the factory correct color of Washington Blue, which is one of the most beautiful colors that I've ever seen. Depending on the angle it appears black, but when the light hits it you see the darkest shade of deep blue. It is simply gorgeous! The chrome grill, bumpers, stainless trim, etc., is absolutely show-quality throughout. The stance and the way that the Coupe sits was a big priority for sure. The body sits on its original stock frame and several days were spent lowering the rear suspension so that it tucks down as low as possible without any chance of rubbing whatsoever. Chassis features include: new 'reverse eye' leaf springs, 2 ¼" shackles, new custom built rear cross member, Super Bell 4" drop axle up front w/ new 'reverse eye' spring, Super Bell 37 to 41 spindles w/ king pins, Ford drop arms & new shocks/shock mounts, '37 Ford steering box, '39 Ford brake & clutch pedal assembly, '39 Ford master cylinder, '39 Lincoln front brakes, and '41-'48 Lincoln rear brakes. Please look at the undercarriage photos to see the detailed work performed on this Coupe. Again, the stance and sitting position was very important to Lane, and it's safe to say that they hit it out of the park! She sits on painted 16" Smoothie steel wheels (16" x 7" on the rear & 16" x 6" up front) w/ '41 Ford dog dish caps, wrapped w/ American Classic wide white-wall tires (2 3/8" white wall on the rear & 2 ¼" white wall up front). When you open the driver's door, you will find a $30,000 custom leather interior done by Perfect Stitch in South Jordan, Utah, that is one of the most elegant designs you will ever see. The square back glide seat frame was wrapped in gorgeous distressed stitched leather w/ matching distressed leather door panels, kick panels & headliner. The door & window cranks are vintage pewter w/ ivory knobs, which look amazing. It features a '35 Ford steering column w/ a '36 Ford Banjo steering wheel. The painted dash remains original w/ rebuilt original gauges, which are all in working order, and all new Grey carpeting w/ tan piping rounds out the perfect classic interior. Please look closely at the photos to see how gorgeous the interior is on this Coupe. The rumble seat hatch opens up to reveal a trunk area completely finished in matching distressed leather throughout. The panel in back opens up to reveal the hidden sound system, which features a Cadence Acoustics XAM500 1000W Bluetooth Smart Ready 4-Channel Xenith (XAM) Series Class D Full Range Amplifier. Everything is ultra-clean and finished so nicely. Now let's get to the heart of this beast, shall we? Underneath the hood flaps you will find an original 1948 Ford 296ci Flathead V8 59A block built by Go Cat Speedshop, who specialize in custom Flathead builds. Features include: block fully sleeved to 3 3/8â€, original 8.5 Edelbrock heads, Mercury 4" crankshaft, Isky 400 Jr camshaft, hollow lifters, stainless 1.5 valves, (8) hours of port work & port matched, exhaust ports opened up, full flow oil set up, Edmunds 59A intake manifold, Pertronix ignition, and (2) new Stromberg 97 carburetors. A 12-volt conversion was done and the battery was relocated to the trunk. The built Flathead V8 is linked to a '39 Ford top loader 4-speed transmission by Van Pelt Sales, and feeds power to Lincoln Zephyr gears. She fires up instantly settling into a nice smooth idle, and she runs & drives beautifully. The '39 Ford 3-speed transmission shifts extremely smooth w/ no grinding or hang ups. She also sounds awesome, w/ that sound that only a Flathead V8 can produce. The extensive no-expense spared build was completed in December 2016, and the car then was shown @ the Grand National Roadster Show in January, as well as the Salt Lake City Autorama/World Of Wheels in March, where it took home awards and received rave reviews. Less than 50 miles have been driven since the completion of the build, so you are basically getting a brand new one-of-a-kind Concours restored '35 Ford 3-Window Coupe. Again, in nearly 20 years of dealing in high-end classic cars, I have seen countless 30's-era Ford Coupes, but this car is in a league all its own!
