1956 Ford Thunderbird Additional Info:

Here is the ultimate "barn find" that everyone dreams of...a real survivor. This 56 Thunderbird has been sitting for decades. Luckily, t was in a dry climate and is extremely solid.

I have crawled around under this car and taken many pictures to show the exceptional condition it is in. I have only found a small rust hole in the front passenger side floor where the heater leaked. One other spot worth mentioning is at the rear of the driver side rocker panel where it looks like it is starting to rust. The rest of the floor, he trunk, oor bottoms, nd the door jambs all look really solid. The wheel covers were even in the trunk and are in beautiful condition.

Please click on this link and take the time to look through all of the many pictures I have provided. Click HERE for over 50 detailed pictures of this Thunderbird

If you look at some other Thunderbirds for sale, any have rust problems. This one is a rare find with very minimal rust and it would be very difficult to find another one as solid as this. The pictures speak for themselves.

I would be happy to set up an appointment for you to come inspect the car in person. Please ask all questions BEFORE bidding. The car is sold AS IS with no warranty expressed or implied.

I will accept payment by CASH IN PERSON ONLY. Nothing else. Full payment is due within 7 days of end of auction.

This has a 312 v8 and automatic transmission. The engine does start and I have actually driven it on my property. I have not taken it on the road and I'm sure it will need some more attention to get it roadworthy. I spray some starting fluid in the carb to get it to start when it is cold. After it runs a little and warms up, t seems to be easier to start again though. I would also suggest cleaning the fuel tank given how long it has been sitting. It sounds like there is a pretty significant exhaust leak as well. The lights are not working and it obviously needs new glass as well.

The car has a Nebraska title that is signed by the seller and ready for the buyer to sign.

If you have any questions, please call me (Kenny) at 318-452-2048. I strongly encourage you to come inspect the car in person so you will know what you are getting and be certain it is what you want BEFORE bidding. I have described the car to the best of my knowledge but do not guarantee to be 100% correct. So please, ome inspect the car yourself. I think you will be impressed with the overall solid condition. In my opinion, ou would have to search long and hard for another one like this.

I am in Alexandria, ouisiana and only 20 minutes from Alexandria International Airport (AEX). Again, will only accept payment by cash in person (no checks, o money orders...nothing else.) Car is for sale locally and I will remove listing if sold. (Pickup or shipping is the responsibility of the buyer and must be done within 10 days of auction end)

Here is a short video of it running:

A survivor/barn find type of car is the "hot commodity" in the classic car world. How many more are out there? A quick internet search shows that only a little more than fifteen thousand 56 Thunderbirds were produced. To put that in perspective, there were roughly four million Model A Fords produced! (And you thought it was hard to find a good model A?)

This Thunderbird is priced extremely fair. I am sure in 10 years, his will be one of those cars I regret letting go. (I wouldn't be surprised if it's worth a heck of a lot more in 10 years too!) Call me, ets make a deal. I look forward to meeting you....

Just a reminder, uyer is responsible for pickup/shipping and full payment is due within 7 days of end of auction. I will only accept payment by cash in person.

If this is a car you want, ow is your opportunity. When will another be available? And how many other sellers are going to put in the effort to provide 50 detailed photos showing the entire car?...Go back and look at all of the pictures again and see what a solid foundation you will be getting for a project. Cars like this do not come along very often. Are you going to let this one slip away and hope for another "someday"?
