1966 Ford Mustang black with landu top Additional Info:
Need asummer project? Here it is. As you can see this is a 1966 Mustang in need of a restore. Please read all of the description as there are some extras included with the car.First the BAD. It need a full restoration. Some of the obvious needs are the passenger side floor board is rotted through (see below). The driver side got hit somewhere in the past and the repair was done by straightening what was there. The driver doorlatch needs repair or replace. The passenger side rear window regulator won't hold the window closed. Brakes don't. Needs a new radiator. Transmission leaks out through drive shaft seal. Radio hole was modified (see below) Seats and interior need restoration. If you can think of other parts they probably need restoration. The hood is not attached as the hinges are in the trunk, the driver side hinge is bent and should be replaced. The hood on the car in the pictures is toast (see below). Now the GOOD. It starts and runs with NO smoke, but I can't run it long enough to say anymore than that since the radiator is gone. When I got it MANY years ago I ran it down the road, it was the fastest car I've ever driven. The transmission shifted normally and was strong. I have to believe the engine has beenrebuilt, since it never smoked for me and hasin excess of 100k miles on it. It sat for many years waiting for some TLC, extra time never came, the radiator was needed elsewhere. In the mean time I picked up many parts needed to bring it back, they are included in the sale and are listed below. By the way the running is now accomplished by squirting gas down the carb. The ignition key will allow it to run but will not crank it. I used a remote start switch to test it. There are probably enough parts included to keep you busy most of the summer without having to buy additional stuff for quite a while. Now the parts included with the car. Both rear fenders. The driver side door skin. The driver side front fender. Both front and rear valances (sheet metal below bumpers). Drivers side shock tower (next to the engine) . The drive side front rail both innerouter pieces. The radiator support rail that runs between the front frame rails. An extra used dash board includes some switches and exterior air vent, mainly for a patch panel to replace the modified radio cut out. A new in the box GAS tank. A replacement passenger side floor board, runs from toe to rear seats. A new but slightly damaged HOOD. The hood is still in its cardboard package, but during a bad day I let a piece of metal bang into it from below and it put a 50 cent size dent in it from the bottom to the top in other words an outee. I think a sheet metal tech could remove it simply as it is easily accessed. Also included are the following parts: New taillight bezels and lens (2). A replacement steering wheel in Ok condition. A used proper radio (am). Door hinge pins and bushings (1 door). Outside rear view mirror (good condition).Mustang fender emblems and scripts (new). Door rubber weather strips. An arm rest 2 pieces for driver door (new). Battery hold down clamp. Needs new battery tray. Ignition switch w/out key part. Regulator. Owners manual. Replacement carb (2 bbl). I also have and will include the service manual and other documentation. The title is clean and in my name ready to transfer to you. You will need to provide a $300. deposit at the end of the auction. If you pick it up with an open trailer you'll need extra space for all the sheet metal parts included with the sale. Plus some straps to hold the driver door closed and the existing hood in place. The car is located about 40 miles south east of Charlotte NC. I am 1 mile south of the state line below Monroe NC. I tried to give as much information as possible, I expect you'll have additional questions. Please ask and I'll do my best to answer them.Forgot to state the original color code is for Yellow. Looks like earl shive painted it maroon, and then somebody overshot a black primer over the driver side???. The maroon is wrinkled on the trunk lid, but I don't see any rust on it. I included a picture of the roof that one time was a vinyl landau top. It now it an even but thin coat of rust. It is NOT rusted through or deeply pitted.
