The original owner ordered this Mustang on 12/30/69, hen took delivery new from Leroy Stovesand Motor Company, mperial, O on 8/22/69. A few years later, e sold it to his brother in West Plains, O, here it remained for the majority of it’s life (including the frame off restoration in 2007!) until his passing, hen his wife took ownership. She lovingly cared for it for quite some time, roperly storing the car, ut not driving it. Then one day, eluctantly, he decided to part with the car feeling this type car is meant to be driven and enjoyed, ot put away in a garage. The Ford Mustang Mach 1 is a performance-oriented option package the Ford Mustang, riginally introduced by Ford in August 1968 as a package for the 1969 model year. The Mach 1 title adorned performance oriented Mustang offerings until the original retirement of the moniker in 1978. 1969 was the benchmark year for Ford Mustang in its proliferation of performance names and engines. The Mach 1 package was only available in the ‘SportsRoof’ body style (previously known as the “Fastback”).
Finished in it’s correct Lime Gold metallic (code 2041-A), ith black hood treatment and functioning hood pins, his Mustang shows extremely well. All the trim is present, omplete and displays brilliantly. The front and rear bumpers fit is extremely tight and chrome finish is exquisite. The weather-stripping is pliable, ith no signs of drying, earing or shrinkage. The car has a slight window (optional) tinting that compliments and completes the “sport” appearance. The glass is in very good condition with the windshield and rear window in excellent condition. The original correct 14-inch wheels represent well with only very slight signs of marring.
Inside, he Black Clarion knit/vinyl Mach 1 Hi-back (code 3A) bucket seats with red stripe and rear seats appear in excellent condition with very little or no signs of wear. The matching black door panels, enter console, arpet (with red insert) and black dashboard are a contrasting compliment to the striking Lime Gold exterior of the car and look fantastic. The wood trim throughout the interior is an excellent addition and completes the cabin. All the original gauges are correctly placed have the appearance and function as originally designed. The originally equipped Mustang steering is in excellent condition and functioning as designed. The original Philco AM radio function as designed. Included are a few spare parts, he original half shaft spindle, alve covers, olley 4 barrel carburetor and notebook binder photo documenting the engine and transmission codes.
This nicely presented, ocumented Mach 1 comes equipped with a Q-code 4 barrel carbureted 335hp/440lb.ft 428cid V8 engine, ated to a (code 6) close ratio 4-speed manual transmissio, ower assisted front disc and rear drum brakes, osi-traction rear differential, (code A) 3.50 axle ratio and power steering. The wheels are polished 14-inch original steel rims with full Mach 1 hub centers surrounded by B.F. Goodrich radials
If your looking for a frame off restored back to correct original, ne family owned Mach 1 4-speed, 28 Cobra Jet, his is it! This is one of (if not) the nicest examples of a 428 Mach 1 we’ve ever seen…including the undercarriage!!! GET OUT AND DRIVE!
