This beautiful short bed 4WD has been a long work in progressthat is finally complete. It is an original 83,000 mile truck. The truck was kept mostly stock, however, when I purchased the truck the previous owner had left it parked outside for many years with 2 pieces of 3/4" particle board in the bed. When the particle board rotted, it took the bed floor and cross bracing with it. Therefore, because of the difficulty finding short bed flooring, I replaced the bed floor with a 1/8" thick hot rolled steel plate and cross bracing from a donor bed. Being familiar with structural design, I implemented an "I" beam design bracing under the plate attached to the donor cross bracing, whichis not stock, but is much stronger thanthe stock Ford bed floor. (see pictures)
This truck has the bullet proof drive train which consists of the 351M V8 with the cast iron granny low 4 speed and the cast iron NP 205 transfer case with 9"rear and a dana 44 front axle carrying 3.54 gears. 4WD functions perfectly--low and high.

I had the tailgate latches and tailgate handle nickel plated for rust prevention.(see picture) Entire chassis was treated to a coat of POR/15 and then top coated. I modified the Rear step bumper with a transfer plate connecting it to the Reese hitch. (see picture) Which would double your protection of the fuel tank in case of a rear end collision.
The chrome on the front bumper is about 60%. The only issue that I have noticed is that when thetruck sits for a while, when you first crank it, the rear main seal will spit out a couple drops of oil. It does not leak while it is running and it does not leak when you cut it off. Only after it has been sitting a few days and you first fire it up. Some seal softener would probably cure it.There are no otherissues with this truck. I haven't put any miles on this truck during restoration.
Unfortunately, I must sell the truck because of family obligations.
