Prior owner was US Senator, as the Senator Plaque
Years ago I had the idea of creating a Inspired Sportsman, spent years researching the Sportsman and Henry Ford II and his vision of the Sportsman. I respect
that Bob Gregorie designed such a beautiful car, ut after driving a "real Sportsman" I felt that the car could be improved. I wanted a car that had the rigid ride of
a Metal car and more importantly the "quietness" of a metal bodied car, nd the Gorgeous Wood embodied in the Sportsman. I acquired the best 1947 Ford
Convertible Super Deluxe I could find (remarkable History). This car was featured in Magazines prior to the conversion for being in such Beautiful Condition
and only has 3000 miles sinceRestoration(looks literally as new). I commissioned expert old World Wood Craftsman to complete a fourteen month build,
result is spectacular. After studying all types of Woods, ak was chosen for it's Beauty and Strength and Sapele was used on the inner panels for its Beauty
Once the exterior Wood work was completed, ttention turned to the interior to Southern California's best Upholstery man known as the "BlindStitch"
to many in the Concourse World & Ford Community. Upon meeting "the Blind Stitch" said I would need to be on a waiting list (typically 6-12 months).
Once he saw the car he accommodated my needs, nstalling a Custom Convertible Top and Luxurious Hand Picked Matching Leather Hides (French Seam)
three full hides were utilized in the building of this Beauty. The kick panels the arm rests all being wrapped with beautiful Chocolate Brown ultra buttery
Soft Leather, he details don't stop at the interior but also the trunk was completely detailed and new Firestone White Walls were installed
(Including Spare in trunk). Years back when it was Restored World Famous Bob Kennedy finished the Dash in the correct "Sportsman" feel.
The Flat Head V8 motor runs strong! Special attention to detail has been undertaken with the build, eeping with the Spirit of the Post War Era
the car is Original including the 6 volt electrical system which is flawless gauges and lights operate safely and soundly. Bright Work
(stainless & chrome) are all perfect devoid of any flaws, he paint is absolutely glossy and looks better then any paint job I have ever seen.
Windows are all spotless and look literally brand new (even the convertible top has the Glass rear window).
