1973 Ford Mustang CONVERTIBLE Additional Info:
1973 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE, I BOUGHT THIS CAR ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO AS A PROJECT CAR FOR MY SON AND I . I OWN A BODY SHOP AND INVISSIONED DOING A RED W/BLACK STRIPE MACH 1 CLONE WITH IT. I AM TO BUSSY TO EVEN START IT, AND HAVE SINCE GOT A SHELBY TO TAKE ITS PLACE. I WILL DESCRIBE THE CAR AS BEST I CAN BUT FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME WITH QUESTIONS. I DO NOT HAVE THE ENGINE# OR TRANS # TO PROVIDE. NOR AM I GOING TO CRAWL AROUND TO GET THEM, SO DONT ASK FOR THEM. I WAS TOLD BY THE ORIGINAL OWNER THAT EVERYTHING IS ORIGIANL AND THE CAR RAN WHEN PARKED IN 2002. HERE IS WHAT I KNOW THE ENGINE IS A 351 CLEVLAND 2 BARREL. I PUT A BATTERY AND STARTER IN IT AND IT TURNS OVER FINE. NO SPARK AS OF NOW. IF I HAVE TIME I MIGHT MESS WITH IS SOME MORE AND SEE IF IT WILL FIRE. SHOWS 1/2 A TANK OF FUEL THAT WILL KNOCK YOU OVER WHEN YOU TAKE THE GAS CAP OFF. CARB LINKAGE IS SIEZED UP AND CARB WILL NEED REBUILT. RADIATOR IS EMPTY SO ASSUME IT LEAKS. TRANS LEAKS BAD SO ASSUME IT NEEDS PULLED TO REPAIR. WHAT FLUIDS ARE THERE ARE CLEAN. BRAKE PEDAL IS FIRM. ALL A/C COMPONENTS ARE ALL THERE. ENGINE COMPARTMENT LOOKS UNTOUCHED. TIRES LOOK GREAT AND ALL HOLD AIR, BUT ARE OLD. NOW FOR THE REST OF THE CAR. CONVERTIBLE TOP IS ACTUALLY NOT BAD, TORN LOOSE ON BOTH SIDES OF BACK WINDOW. IT IS POWER AND WORKS FINE. THE INTERIOR IS IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE NO RIPS OR TEARS IN SEATS BUT DO HAVE SOME MILDEW DAMAGE THAT MIGHT CLEAN OFF, HAVENT TRIED. CARPET IS WORN 1 SMALL HOLE BEHIND DRIVERS SEAT. DASH AND COUNSEL ARE PERFECT AND EVERYTHING SEEMS TO WORK. BOTH DOOR PANELS HAVE SMALL CRACKS. ALL GLASS IS GOOD AND WINDOWS ROLL UP AND DOWN FINE. NOW FOR THE BODY. QUARTERS ARE RUSTING OVER THE WHEELS, LEFT INNER WHEEL HOUSE HAS A GOLF BALL SIZED HOLE. RIGHT SIDE LOOKS OK. FLOORS AND TRUNK PANS LOOK GOOD. DOORS LOOK GREAT. ROCKERS HAVE RUST STARTING AT THE QUARTER BUT JUST ON THE SURFACE, NO HOLES. LEFT FENDER IS GOOD, RIGHT HAS A QUARTER SIZE RUST SPOT BY ANTENEA THAT IS CLOSE TO A HOLE BUT WOULD SAVE EASILY. HOOD AND DECK LID ARE FINE. HAS HAD A REPAINT AT SOME TIME. GRILL HAS A CHIP ONTOP THAT THE HOOD COVERS WHEN CLOSED. OTHER THAN THAT ITS PERFECT. FRONT BUMPER IS NICE. REAR BUMPER IS STRAIGHT BUT CHROME IS PITTING. TRIM IS EXCELLENT ALLTHE WAY AROUND EXCEPT WHEEL MOLDINGS NEED REPLACED. ALL LIGHTS WORK AND ARE N GOOD SHAPE. PAINT IS LESS THAN FAIR. STAINS ON THE TOP SIDE FROM BEING STORED IN A BUILDING WITH A LEAKING ROOF. RESERVE IS LOW I NEED THE SPACE MORE THAN THE MONEY. CLEAN CLEAR AND CURRENT IOWA TITLE. THANKS FOR LOOKING
