According to the data plate, his car started out as a silver blue metallic 6 cylinder/automatic built in NJ in July 1965. Made a great foundation for all the additional goodies! I have been all over the car with a magnet and cannot find any Bondo work or repairs. To the best of my ability, t appears to me to be all original steel other than than the fiberglass hood. I can tell you this, he paint job was NOT cheap! I have restored a few cars myself and I would equate the finish to an app. $5000.00 job!
All the chrome is bright and excellent, anging from new looking bumpers/trim/window and tail light surrounds to extra nice driver quality door handles and passenger side mirror. Some very minor chrome pitting on those, ould be the originals. On a scale of 1-10, would give the exterior a 9.0 The interior looks to be a mix of original and new combined and is very clean and comfortable, would give that an 8.0. It does have a new padded dash pad, eadliner and replaced carpets. The drivers seat has a couple light seam splits, he new headliner has two holes, he passenger seat has the center emblem missing and there are some other minor signs of wear on some original 1965 parts.
Aftermarket CD stereo w/amp setup in the trunk and verycold air conditioning make for a comfortable and enjoyable driving experience! The motor is strong, tarts right up in the morning, o bad noises or smoking and the in-dash gauge shows great oil pressure. Runs down the road smooth and strong as it should with plenty of power. The car has 3.56 gears with a posi or limited slip rear. Correct me if I am wrong- Both tires turn in the same direction when spinning off the ground and the driveshaft turns 3 1/2 turns per one turn of the tire. Should be 3.56 or very close to that. Overall a very solid feeling car that is fun to drive!! Let me quickly highlight some of what I found--- Front Disc Brakes--front and rear sway bars with new bushings--new shocks front and rear--new rear leaf springs with new bolts and bushings--possibly new front coil springs as the stance is just right!--new Federal SuperSteel 595 radials, 35/45/R17 tires in the rear and 215/45/R17 tries up front--17" polished American Racing Wheels with the rears looking to be a size wider than the fronts-- true dual exhaust with crossover H pipe and O2 sensors for the motor to run right-- solid original floorboards, ocker panels, runk pan and shock/suspension mounts--new rubber weatherstripping/seals--new wiring, ossible complete body harness.
It just looks as the goal was to make an older car as much as new and up to date as possible without spending a small fortune. This restoration would be considered a very well done frame on restoration. Not a rotisserie $100,000.00 plus job reserved for high end collectible cars, ut rather what you would do if you wanted as new a factory looking example you could get with a more modern engine and transmission. All the while keeping the cost this side of the stratosphere!! One thing for sure, ou could not replace this Mustang in this condition for what I am asking, ot even close! And it's ready to go right now! PLEASE feel free to call me directly on my cell phone with any questions at all you may have @ 330-240-7486. I want you to be completely comfortable with your transaction and enjoy the whole experience! If you are seriously considering a purchase, et me know if there is anything else I can clarify. I will be glad to walk around the car with you on the phone. Thank you for your consideration!
