For sale here is a Fiat 124 Abarth Rally tribute.This car is a tribute to the 1974 World Rally Championship car driven by Marku Alen for the Fiat works team in Rideau Lakes, Canada 1974.With a well built 1.8L (same as 1974) engine the car is a blast to drive with power peaking though 3500 rpm, and reviving through 8000, while still maintaining drivability at lower Rpm, original Weber IDF 40 carbs and intake manifold give immediate throttle response= lots of smiles.Many original period and new parts to listEngine:Rebored +4, 10mm domed high compression pistons, Road/Race cams, Adjustable timing pulleys, MSD ignition + 2 step, Weber IDF 40’s on waffle manifold.Body:Built on 1978 car, lighter early doors with poly windows and slides, Group 4 Abarth Fiberglass fenders and hood from Italy, all fenders mounted and finished with correct bodywork openings into wheel wells. Extra lights cut and welded in the front, Correct Fiberglass trunk lid and rubber latches. Original pinninfarina hard top with original rear glass screen, plus additional fabricated race hardtop needs new poly rear screen. Extra Carello fog lights, original side marker lights. Deleted fuel filler & and new pop up filler cap, fabricated copy of Abarth aluminium fuel tank, etcInterior:Sparco junior seats & period Sabelt harnesses, 6 point roll bar, OMP wheel with quick release, fly off brake handle (not connected) electrical cut off, centre console switches etc.
This is a great looking tribute in driveway grey with a few rally graphics, this is not a garage queen, many surface blemishes from spirited driving fun,toanswer no it does not have Abarth differential & IRS or Collotti transmission and front suspension.
I had plans to replace the rear suspension with a miata LSD rear end, but another project beckons, and reluctantly looking for a new owner
