1959 Fiat Abarth Zagato 750 Additional Info:

Among enthusiasts of the glory days of sports car racing, the name Carlos Abarth needs no introduction. He was an automobile engineer and designer who built some of the most iconic and successful race cars over several decades. One of the most, if not THE most famous of these cars was the Abarth Zagato 750 Double Bubble. A lightweight aluminum bodied car built on the chassis of a Fiat 600 with numerous performance additions. These cars won at Monza, the Mille Miglia, and countless other tracks. I've owned this car for a while and have tracked down the history of this car going back over 50 years. Many old race cars were discarded or modified beyond recognition. NOT this car! This car was fortunately in the hands of appreciative enthusiasts. It was owned by a well known Porsche 917 collector who helped start vintage racing in the Southeast. I've been in contact with this gentleman and his son and they remember this car well from 50 years ago. A restoration was started, the paint was stripped revealing the bare aluminum body. New rockers were installed and the project stalled and was sold years later. The Abarth was kept in a climate controlled environment by the next owner until they decided to sell and I purchased it. Along with the car, I received numerous mechanical parts with the Abarth including a correct early Fiat 600 block, extra pistons and engine parts, lots of original Abarth trim. This is a very complete car. There is very little missing. Just the windshield (available from Mr Fiat), and a few small bits, and some interior soft bits. From a former owner of an Abarth restoration shop in the PNW, I purchased the necessary parts to build an Abarth Mille Miglia engine. Most importantly, an Abarth Mille Miglia crankshaft (the heart of any Abarth engine), unobtanium Abarth cast 10mm head bolts, Abarth cast oil sump, Weber Impe carb, and other parts. The Fiat engine block is bolted up in the car but needs to be fully disassembled and built. This is a great opportunity to restore a very solid Abarth Zagato. These thin aluminum bodies were known to form corrosion where the aluminum met the steel. Not this car! There is only one very small area on the body itself (on the front hood lip) The body itself is in very good unrestored condition. The chassis itself is mostly rust free. I've searched all over and found only a several matchead size pinholes in the floorpans. I have many pictures uploaded to this link. Please check them out.Abarth Zagato Double Bubble - beautifulsurf
I've been on ebay for decades selling cars such as this. Bid with confidence. I've sold cars around the US, Europe, and all over the world. I can help arrange transport to port for international buyers. I'm both a lifetime enthusiast and buyer and seller of cars. I might even consider trades up or down including air cooled Porsche, VW, and other interesting cars. This would only work, of course, for those here in the US or perhaps Canada. Ebay has a newer payment system called Carmel Secure Payment. I'm old school and do not accept this method but ebay does not currently allows seller to disable this feature when making a listing. I require a fully transparent bank to bank wire transfer of funds. No apps, just a regular fully accredited bank. US or International. Please message me for any questions Thank you.
