1984 Fiat Other Additional Info:
Hello, I have a "barn find" Pininfarina for sale. I have owned over 24 Pininfarinas restoring most and getting them back on the road. I sold my 85.5 two years ago and thought I was done with these cars but I was contacted by a fellow who was selling this car for a friend and they wanted it to go to someone who could clean it up and make it look good again, this is where I came into the picture. The car had been sitting in a garage since 1990 and needed some tender loving care. Due to a divorce (how many times has that happened) the car had to be sold. This car has only had two owners.I had the car shipped to my location in Austin, TX and have been evaluating its condition and taking note of the work that will be needed to get it looking good again. I have already started buying parts and plan on redoing the car to make it look new again. To be honest, the car does not need that much. The car was resprayed at one time but I can not find any body work done under the paint so I think it was sprayed because of oxidation. The motor started right up and runs great. The motor has never been pulled and/or opened up so it is still in original condition. The inside is complete including original carpet. It is going to become harder-and-harder to find Pininfarinas in this condition and this price as they are the most sought after of all the FIAT spiders . In the coming weeks I am going to change all the fluids and get the car in daily driving condition. I am going to go through the whole car and make sure it is 100% complete and in working condition before I start any restoration. If no one wants the car by the end of summer I am going to restore the car over the winter and most likely keep it because it will be one of the best examples out there of a Pininfarina Spider in original condition. I am posting pictures of the car as I bought it, I will post more pictures as I start going through it. These pictures were taken by the owner at its location before I had it shipped to Austin. If you have any questions please feel free to send me an email and I will get back to you right away. Not pictured is all the new parts I have already secured for a complete restoration. The car does have some minor rust issues in the normal locations for these old FIATs but not that bad at all. In the picture you will see the spare on the car, all Cromodora wheels are included. The car sat for so long that the wheels had dry rot so the spare was put on for one of the wheels.
