1971 Fiat 850 Additional Info:
1971 Series 3 Fiat 850 Sport Coupe. One of the last years for the 850 Sport Coupe. This car is unusual to find in the United States. The car was last registered in 1992 and was found in the California high desert. This will be a fun project or race car for the right person. Engine and transaxle are out of the car and were removed by the previous owner. Head is off of engine. The cylinder head has some internal damage at the #4 piston, and it looks like it may has suffered head gasket leak. Top of pistons don’t show any damage. #4 piston top looks clean so not sure where the head damage came from. The head / block might not have been originally paired. Engine turns by hand and bores are smooth with no wear “lip”. 903 engine (which is the best standard fiat 850 Engine. 4-bolt water pump and fan. 4 bolt water pumps are hard to find. Car was originally a reddish burgundy color now painted orange. There is a crack in the windshield. Car as some rust at the base of the A-pillars, battery box and both under-side ends of front boxed crossmember (probably from battery acid settling). Except for the two holes at the ends of crossmember, and small area under spare tire well bottom of car is super dry with original undercoating and no rust. Top of car has some surface rust. Also a few patches of rust around rear window none of it through the metal. Rocker panels are nice and rust-free. Some paint bubbling on front bottom edge of door. Looks like car was resprayed once and the body does not have much filler at all. Left front fender shows a thin layer of filler that is chipping out. Left rear quarter panel has a dent high up the fender on the edge (pictured) Right front fender and door have a shallow scrape dent. An honest car. As a starting point, you could do a lot worse than this car. Just look at some of the YouTube restoration videos on cars that require extensive metal replacement. Needs interior completely redone. Front and back seats are included. Dashboard was recovered with carpet by previous owner (?!!). Odometer reads 46K. Front bumper was cut and modified for a custom fog light set up (no fog lights). Missing trim around engine cover and trailing edge or rear fenders (3 pieces). NO TITLE - but I do have some paperwork (signed request for duplicate title) and a new old stock 2nd license plate that was never placed on the car. Sold with bill of sale. Missing reflectors on back panel, front nose “V” ornament. There maybe some other parts missing besides what is listed. Tires are shot and wheels are on square dollies (included) Look at the pictures, these are part of the description. Feel free to ask questions. If there is something you don’t see please ask me and I’ll let you know if I have it. Car is located in Los Angeles, about 5 miles from LAX. NO RESERVE – My wife doesn’t share my enthusiasm for this project. I have Radiator, Starter, alternator, both drive shafts, INCLUDES 2 CROMODORA CD4 Wheels 13X5 MAGNESIUM WHEELS - 8lbs per wheel,
