1978 Fiat 124 Spider Additional Info:
1978 Fiat 124 Spider Pininfarina
VIN 124CS10136176
This 1978 Fiat 124 Spider was purchased by the current owner couple years ago. Power comes from a 1.8 liter twin-cam inline-four coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission. Engine runs smooth and it is a fun little convertible to drive.
It is fitted with tubular exhaust manifold and ANZA exhaust system. Sounds great.
Little Fiat has only 57000 miles on a tachometer.
Recent work includes new upper and lower control arms, new rear springs, new shocks, new brake rotors and pads, new wheels, new tail light assemblies.
New chrome mirrors, washer bag, wiper chrome nozzles, windshield wipers grommet kit, vent window seals and rear trunk logo.
Convertibletop is in good shape it wasre-died couple of months ago to a deeper black color.
Nardi steering wheel and aftermarket Senna wheels have been installed. This Fiat Spider is sold with recent service records, and a clean NY state title .
Paint is very glossy, it was polished couple of months ago . There are some imperfections from previous paint work.
Repainted in the past with a driver quality repaint, the seller’s mechanic believes the driver-side front clip had been replaced at one time and that filler was used on the bodywork. Minor chips are visible, and a ding in the hood and a poorly touched up area on the driver’s rear corner can be seen in the gallery.
There is a small area on the hood that appears to have paint crack from over bending it.
Rear left corner by the headlight was dented and some touch up paint work was performed there.
Chrome on the bumpers is showing small pitting areas.
The suspension has been modified with stiffer springs on the rear and new performance shocks on all four corners. Recent improvements include new upper and lower controls arms, rebuilt rear axles, new brake rotors all around, and new tail light assemblies.
The interior was originally brown/tan and has been color changed to black. The seats and top were sourced from a donor car, and new carpets and a custom dashboard with a deleted radio were installed. Red seat belts, and Pininfarina floor mats have been added, and the custom short shifter is topped off with a black leather shift knob.
Power comes from a 1.8 liter 4-cylinder paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and is reported to run well. The engine bay has been detailed, with some surfaces refinished. The hood insulation has been replaced, a new radiator fan was installed, and an aftermarket air cleaner with a foam-element was added.
There is lots of recipesfor most of the work that was performed in the past.

Engine ventilation system hoses replaced as well.
