1979 Fiat Spider Pininfarina 2000 Additional Info:
I recently had to move from Miami to Denver on short notice, and am selling both of my classic cars. In addition to my 1962 Buick Electra Convertible (please see my other auction), I have this stunning all original 1979 Fiat Spider Pininfarina 2000 that drives like it just came off the dealer lot. All parts are original to the vehicle or original to the time period 1979. (except Stereo and air conditioning).I have had this car for 4 years and have never had a single problem with it (replaced a brake cylinder once).
Garaged almost it's entire life, this low mileage classic is virtually rust free, and DRIVES LIKE A DREAM. If you're in the market for a Fiat Spider, you won't find a better one anywhere in the COUNTRY. My mechanic, who specializes in classic Italian cars, will tell you how great and rare a car in this condition is---and he exclusively works on Fiats and Alfa's. If you want to verify, please feel free to call Auto Veloce in North Miami, FL. 1979 was the first year for the 2000 engine and the 1st of 2 years that it was carbureted. The benefit of that engine was that it was the biggest engine that was in the 124 Spider line. If you don't know spiders, many will tell you that 1979 was the best year of all the year's, mainly because it was the most reliable. This fiat is in the original factory color Cherry Red PPG color code 136 or 72338.Plus, this car is the RARE automatic version (almost all Fiat's are manual) and also has awesome air conditioning.
I am forced to sell this car because of a job relocation. As such, I am listing this car with NO RESERVE. It needs to sell, so some lucky SOB is going to win one of the nicest classic convertibles in the country. Spiders in this condition with extremely low mileage (43000) rarely come to market and when they do, they usually sell for 15-18K at auction. This car is located in Miami and I recommend, if possible, that you come and look at it the condition in person and test drive it. Buyer to pay for and arrange shipping. I reserve the right to end the auction if someone makes me an offer locally.
Good luck bidding, and please check out my other auction for the other baby I'm forced to sell-- a 1962 Buick Electra Convertible!
