Up for your consideration is an accident free, clear title red and tan Ferrari from a private collection. It has excellent throttle response, tons of power, and handles triple digit speeds with ease. Its handling is nice and firm. Original paint with a lustrous patina showing only minor signs of age. The four-seat full leather interior is in very nice condition. The driver’s seat/door show slight wear, the dashboard has a slight wrinkle, and a little shrinkage on the rear window shelf (see photos). All can be easily repaired. It was in storage for many years and is ready for its new chapter in life. Only 40 or so miles have been put on it prior to listing. The problematic circuit board was just replaced (a very expensive repair) including oil change, new ignition wires, distributor cap and rotor were replaced as well. A multi-spark ignition system was installed by the previous owner creating a reliable ignition source for the failure prone original. This engine has a timing chain, so no scary timing belt services. The underside shows some signs of surface rust as with any Ferrari of this vintage. The windows need either new regulators or motors.
It’s the perfect vintage exotic for a family. If your significant other has blocked owning a Ferrari because of two seats, or cannot drive a stick, look no more. Everyone can enjoy the thrill and sound of riding in a Ferrari without leaving anyone out! 400i’s are just starting to increase in value and are predicted to do so for the next several years. Only 883 automatics were ever produced.
VIN: ZFFEB06B000050607. (Ebay did not recognize the VIN as all 400i's were intended for the European market.)
