1958 Edsel Citation four door hardtop Additional Info:

Up for your consideration is my 1958 Edsel Citation four door hardtop in teal/white with tri tone teal/turquoise/white interior. I have owned this car for two and a half years and put less than 600 miles on it since then.Odometer shows mileage of 61,689, but I have no way to verify that reading.During my ownership I have done the following: replaced front and rear wheel cylinders, master cylinder, all three brake hoses. Installed new rear shocks, changed rear axle pinion seal and fluid, major tune including points, cap, rotor plugs and wires, etc. I also changed all belts and hoses, flushed out the power steering fluid, had the starter rebuilt, changed the oil twice, both times adding ZDDP .Installed color matching seat belts front and rear.Installed new valve cover gaskets. Cars runs well with no funny noises from the engin, does not run hot or smoke.Brakes work wel, tires are WWW with low miles on them. Teletouch selector for transmission works great and blows people's mind when they see it! and the trans shifts fine. The car is originally from N Carolina as can be seen by the windshield sticker and the original dealer key fob.(see pics). My best guess is the car received a cosmetic restoration 10 or so years ago. Whats good:floors are solid, chassis is solid. Glass is all good, windows all roll up and down, with slight delamination on the open ends of the vent (wing) windows. Interior looks great, right down to theasymmetrical seat pattern unique to Edsel. Headline, door panels and dash are very nice. Lights work, gas gauge works, speedometer and odometer work,,horn works,heater/blower work,Wipers work slowly as the arevacuumpowered. All stainless is very nice. Paint has a nice shine to it, but there are some scrapes/scratches/chips in the lower part of the teal as can be seen in the pictures. The not as good: paint scrapes as mentione, some very small paint bubbles at the pass rear door edge and the drivers side front edge of the hood. The car needs the control arm bushings replaced since they appear to be the original and the rubber is worn out. This is a standard suspension part and not unique to his car. Insidecourtesy lights at the end of the dash board need new lenses, but I believe reproductions are available.Radio not hooked u, but it is the original unit. Chrome is fair some pits in tail light lens surrounds. If you are looking for a 100 point show car, this is not it! If you are looking for a unique 50's land yacht thatdoesn'tneed too much give it a look.Car comes with some service manuals, some extra parts such as wheel cover, new fuel pump, ignition coil, extra trim pieces. The car presents itself nicely, and always turns heads at local cruise nights Reserve is set low, its time to thin the herd.
