Additional Info:

For sale is my 1964 Dodge Custom 880, a beautiful and seldom-seen full-size Mopar that has undergone an extensive restoration with a tremendous amount of time, care, and attention invested in bringing the car to its current condition.
The Custom 880 occupies an interesting place in Dodge history, and today these cars are far less commonly seen than many of their Mopar contemporaries. With its unmistakable early-1960s styling, long sweeping body lines, generous chrome, and substantial road presence, this is a car that attracts attention simply because most people have never seen another one.
Under the hood is the 361 V8, paired with Dodge’s iconic push-button automatic transmission. It delivers exactly the kind of driving experience you would expect from a large American automobile of the period—comfortable, distinctive, and full of character.
A tremendous amount of work has been completed on this car during my ownership. The body and paint have undergone a comprehensive restoration, resulting in the striking appearance you see today. Considerable attention was given not only to the overall finish, but also to the many smaller details that make a vintage automobile present properly.
The dashboard and instrumentation have received significant attention, including replacement and restoration work to the instrument cluster, speedometer, gauges, clock, and temperature gauge.
The interior has also been refreshed with upholstery work and specialty fabric sourced from SMS Auto Fabrics. Additional work has included new window felts, windlace, weatherstripping, armrests, door glass, trunk mat, accent striping, and numerous other finishing details.
Mechanically, the car has received substantial attention as well. Work has included the brake booster, carburetor rebuild, heating and cooling system, thermostat and hoses, along with additional maintenance and mechanical work as needed. A discreet Bluetooth audio system was also installed, allowing you to enjoy modern music while retaining the vintage appearance and character of the interior.
One of the things I have enjoyed most about this Dodge is its individuality. At nearly every cruise-in or show, you will see plenty of the more familiar classics. A 1964 Dodge Custom 880 is something entirely different. It represents an era when American automobiles were large, expressive, comfortable, and immediately recognizable.
This car has been a labor of love, and a great deal has been invested in restoring, maintaining, and improving it. Extensive records and receipts for the work performed are available to serious prospective buyers upon request.
I also want to be straightforward about the few areas that could still use attention. The carpet on the front driver’s side shows wear and would benefit from replacement or repair, the dash pad needs some minor attention, and the door seals could use further attention/replacement. These are relatively minor items compared with the extensive work already completed, but I believe in representing the car accurately so there are no surprises for its next owner.
The car is being sold simply because my collection and interests have changed. I would genuinely like to see the 880 go to someone who appreciates unusual Mopars and understands the amount of work involved in preserving and restoring a car like this.
As with any 62-year-old automobile, it should not be expected to be absolutely perfect. Serious buyers are welcome to ask questions, request additional or specific photographs, or arrange an inspection prior to purchase.
If you are looking for something different from the usual classic-car offerings—a beautifully presented vintage Dodge with unmistakable 1960s character, a 361 V8, push-button automatic, and extensive restoration work already completed—this 1964 Dodge Custom 880 deserves a serious look.
It has been a special car to own, and I hope its next owner enjoys it for many years to come.
