1956 Dodge D500 D500 Additional Info:
1956 Dodge D500 Sierra 8 Passenger Wagon, one of nine D500 station wagons built in 1956. I've had this since 2010 and have only located one other in Europe and one here in the states recently. The true early verions of the D500 Dodge had a 315 cubic inch, 260 hp Hemi V8, one year only, Dodge only. Mine has the original numbers matching motor with documentation. They were built on a Chrysler frame, factory lowered with 12 inch brakes. Dodge made both six and eight passenger wagons and I can't even find one other eight pass version anywhere( with or without D500)!. Notice the factory ordered green tint glass including the windshield, and a factory installed luggage rack with red bullit reflectors on it! Power steering, power brakes, and a power front seat are some more rare options to have. I've done a bit of work including the fuel system with with a new tank and sender, carb rebuilt, new water pump and generator, tires and brakes including cylinders, trans work, and some exhaust too. So much info to list. Here is a link to a ton of info on the D500 in general. http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=64334&posts=7 There is rust, the first two owners were in South Carolina. I'm also including two front floor pans as the rust is there and a hole in the back by the tailgate on the drivers side. I've replaced the carpet only where it had to be and left the original in there as much as possible. Carpet and sill plates are just laying in place. I've kept in mind the next owner, so they will have some discovery fun too! Call me to discuss but keep in mind that I'm in Ca, so please mind the time zones.
