1992 Dodge Other Pickups LE Additional Info:

This southern (Florida) truck runs like a top and drives like a Cadillac. A/C, heat, PW, PL, radio, speedo, no warning lights on, map lights, cargo lights, ext. lights,...all work nicely. Everything I can think of works as it should except the tailgate latch mechanism needs some tlc and the cap lift glass won’t stay up on its own. Please review the pictures/information carefully before bidding and feel free to ask any questions.
The vehicle history furnished is via an NMVTIS accredited data reporting agency approved by the U.S. Department of Justice and State DMV’s. I have done what I can think of to verify all information provided but please check on anything yourself or ask any questions I can help with and I’ll try.

I talked to the previous owner and he characterized this as “ just noticed it recently.”. As such, I have sent for the broken plastic gear that is causing issue (please see recently revised pics), will complete the replacement and would conservatively submit that 17,500 - 18,000 miles is the true range of miles...even though the MVTIS/DMV data report/research suggests less!
Internet research shows this plastic gear failure is rampant in 1990-93 Rams after a certain amount of years old...gets brittle. I fully expect this replacement to be complete ASAP and will demonstrate its successs upon completion.
