1946 Dodge Other Pickups Additional Info:
1946 Dodge WD-15 heavy half ton step side pickup. 218 cubic inchflat head 6cylinder (Montgomery Ward replacementmotor or rebuild),with 3 speed manual transmission. Odometer reads 62,422 miles.Runs and drives, shifts well, will need brake work to stop, needs the hand brake to stop it currently. Converted to 12 volt electrical system with Chevy style alternator, built in voltage regulator, firewall ballast resistor. Instruments are functional, some of the lights have worked, including the headlights and one of the cab lights, but they will need attention, as the wiring is mostly original and would not be considered reliable. At the very least the grounds will need cleaning. This is aSolid truck, has it's share of dings and dents, mainly on the fenders front and rear. Cab floors had surface rust only, was treated with POR-15 to cure it. Portions of the cab inner cardboard lining are there. The original seat was removed from the truck but is in decent shape; the wood cover for the shifter and brake was bad, a new one fabricated. Original carpet like floor covering still intact.Truck came with visors, rear view mirror, heater (aftermarket but operational), antennamount for radio, dual windshield wipers (also operational). Missingglove box. There is surface rust only onmany parts of the truck. The original woodbed was shot, so it was removed, but the metal runners were kept and are in usable shape. The bed box is ingood shape. One of the rear spring hangers was replaced as the bushing was worn outand the hangeru-bolt was riding metal on metal. (See pictures). The gas tank was removed and cleaned, dual fuel filters were added, one off the tank and one in line to the carburetor (original fuel bowl integral with fuel pump as well). The carburetor was rebuilt. The bumpers are not original and are not securely bolted, rear is off a 55 Studebaker pickup, front off a Chevy passenger car. Both haveappropriate bracket width for use with this truck without much modification.Taillights are just bolted on with brackets just for show, as are the turn signals which were added at some point in the trucks history.Cab visor is not original, is easily removed with a few screws and bolts. The glass other than the passenger window and back window will need replaced. There areparts included not pictured including stem mirrors, new tune up parts (cap, rotor, points), other miscellaneous including some of the original 6 volt electrical components, add on turn signals that were on the truck at purchase, other incidentals of not much value.
