1949 Dodge Other Pickups b1b Additional Info:
This truck is 99.5% finished. Needs nothing but could use some small touches to be finished. Starts, runs and drives great.
*Frame-off restoration.*Engine rebuilt. All accesories new or rebuilt.*12 volt conversion. Starter rebuilt. New battery. New alternator. HEI style, points-less, distributor.*Brake master cylinder, all wheel cylinders and all brake lines rebuilt or replaced.*All new door and windshield glass. Rear glass is original.*Most weatherstripping replaced.*Cherry and hard maple bed floor.
Truck is restored mostly original, with the exception of 12 volt conversion and paint color. It was a farm truck in WV. The mileage is original. Truck had little mechanical wear but had been sittinng for about 40 years in a barn. I included a picture of when I bought it and a few restoration photos. This is a nice, fun truck. It is not a 100 points show truck but is in beautiful condition to drive, take to cruise-ins and enjoy. Makes a great photo prop and I've also had requests to use it for country weddings. I would prefer to keep it but space and financial limitations dictate otherwise.
I wish to be completely transparent, so below are the only issues I am aware of.All gauges (including speedometer) work, with the exception of the heat gauge. I'm guessing the sending unit is bad but have not investigated. The panel (inside gauge) lights are not currently working. Again, I'm guessing the panel light switch is corroded but I have not torn it apart. The current wheels are trailer wheels and should be replaced before doing any real driving. The original wheels were rusted beyond saving and I never located a set of suitable replacements. Current wheels are the cream color shown in one photo above.
If you have questions, ask me. If you are able, come check it out. Location is near Bedford, Pennsylvania (SW PA). I'm going to try to link a walk-around video if time (and my ability) allow.
Thanks so much and happy bidding!
