1949 Dodge Other Pickups Additional Info:
I am selling my 1949 Dodge 1/2 ton pickup because I have too many projects and not enough time. I purchased the truck just over a year ago and slowly began to restore it. It is a nice old truck. The frame is in good shade. I was told it was out of Arizona originally. The body panels do not have any rust, Just a little surface rust on the rear driver side fender. There is some rust in the floor pan, which will need to be repaired. The photos show the condition of the floors. I bought nice original gauges, a front bumper and grille. The front brakes have been updated to disks with new rotors and calipers with a conversion kit from Scarebird. The front shocks have been replaced as well. New Oak and stainless hardware is in the bed, which looks great. The paint is oxidized, but I think looks really good on an old truck. A new front windshield is installed. I just had the gas tank reconditioned on the inside and out. I have the original engine (flathead 6 cylinder). It is at the engine builder and the block has a crack that is questionable weather it should be rebuilt. So, the question is repair it or put a new engine in it. The original 3 speed trans is in good shape. I removed the rear end and was going to put in a Jeep Wrangler rear end, but I can put the origional back in in 20 minutes for the buyer to make it rolling. The interior needs to be completely redone. I have a new Wiring harness (20 circuit that is more than enough) to make it 12 volt. It is a nice harness and all the wires are labeled(from Jeggs). This is will make someone a very nice truck, I would love to finish it, but I need a running truck and just do not have the time. The Truck is located in a Suburb of Chicago between Ohare and Midway airports. Please contact me with any questions. Good luck bidding.
