Motor and and top end rebuilt using NOS parts. NOS Mikuni carbs that came with air filter, intake manifold plus a new B cam as part of the package deal were installed. 5-speed transmission has been serviced and rebuilt. Rear leaf springs re-arched, distributor re-curved. Shocks replaced. Rubberized under-body spray was employed and also used in trunk. Reformed dash by "Just dashes". New hard top. Correct sized tires purchased. America Racing Lebre rims balanced, powder coated and pin striped. The color scheme was matched to photos found in a Japanese auto show magazine [photos 5-6]. Includes soft top with armature that I never used. Flaws include inside door pulls have not been installed. Hood release needs some adjustment or repair as hood latch will unlatch sometimes while driving. Clock works however likely not accurate. Couple spots on paint could be gently buffed. Some inside bits of interior trim need adhesive. Driven sparingly [less then 1000 miles] since restoration. Will be keeping the license plates and car will be fitted with a paper temporary in rear window. I had the paint work done at Southwest Auto body and frame in SW Portland. This top flight job cost was 10k [not including rear quarter panel replacement]. Jock at "Bill's Datsun" in Clackamas OR rebuilt the motor and fit the carbs and did a lot of the electronics sorting. He happened to have a new in the box rear quarter panel which I acquired at no small expense. I then had that quarter panel installed on the quarter panel [At SW Auto body] that would have needed more then a thin skin of bondo. I can't remember exactly what it cost extra to have the rear quarter panel installed however it was not inexpensive to have replaced. Jock had also previously rebuilt the transmission. After Jock did the best he could I had the carburetors fine tuned [twice] at Majhor-Murray Ltd. In Portland. I have scarcely driven the car 1000 miles after having all the restoration work. My original color choice was the two tone using yellow. I had the seats done before deciding to change color. I ended up going with a Corvette "Riverside" red shown on the body rather than yellow. Just started after sitting several months and found brakes are dragging, and brake pedal a little lower than usual. Likely needs brake lines bled. I had brakes all gone through years ago and very few miles put on them.
