THE CAR IS A 1983 (CHECK VIN) BUT eBay wouldn't accept VIN! Final year of the S130.1983 Datsun 280ZX (GL) Grand Luxury- Slick Top 2 Seater Coupe- 5MT- French Beige Metallic (029) / Red- JN1HZ04S0DE560086- 183,250 miCalifornia car it's entire life until a few months ago. Now Florida titled & registeredOVERVIEW:This is a very sought after specification of the 280ZX with the Grand Luxury packaging giving the car options such as power windows, power steering, automatic climate control and uprated interiors. Additionally it is a slick top and equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission. This combination is well regarded amongst enthusiasts & collectors alike. This particular color scheme with the light gold known as French Beige against the red cloth interior is a very lovely combination. Sporty & luxe at the same time. While the car does have the aforementioned automatic climate control, the A/C belt was torn back when I took delivery. I have a new belt (pictured) in the trunk, just needs to be installed. It will more than likely require a freon charge as well. Blower motor and everything accompanying the air system is in good working order. MECHANICAL & DRIVING:After I acquired this car, the ignition service was attacked along with a general clean up and the car now runs like a top. The L28 inline-6 runs like a champ, take note of the driving video. It accelerates nicely and moves through the RPMs smoothly. Gearshifts are genuinely crisp which is a treat from a car that comes from an era with gooey gearboxes. Braking is adequate, period correct so to say! The car has no problem cruising with modern day traffic. CONDITION PLEASE READ:As a California car its entire life with the exception of the last few months in Florida, it has been a rust free example. Perhaps surface rust if we’re being microscopic on a few old bolts but zero core/body panel. It has been garaged and when outside, covered. Conditionally, the car is pretty amazing outside & in. Body panels are straight with very few ding, no dents, with aligned panels. The hood needs slight adjustment due to an upgraded radiator. There is front underbody suspension damage via the previous owner of which with recent circumstances in life, will not allow me the time to repair. As it was explained, the car drove over a parking curb while exiting a shopping center. Misaligned some mounting areas (SEE DETAILED IMAGES) Needs front torsion rods & suspension bushings replaced along with new sway bar bolts. Even with underbody damage, this is a very clean overall S130 280ZX. Please see images.
