Ask most enthusiasts what the first Japanese sports car of significance sold in the U.S. was, and the likely response would be the Datsun 240Z. But there is a compelling case for an earlier series of two-seat Datsuns, the Datsun Sports Convertibles, or commonly known as the "Fair Lady Roadster". The Datsun Sports Convertible debuted in 1963, months ahead of the MGB. The Sports Convertible evolved over the years from a 1.5 liter 4 cylinder in its early days to the optional 2.0 liter, 2000 performance version offered from 1967 – 1970.

The car was restored 2007 by the skillful hands at Sports Car Craftsmen located in Aurora, CO. It is finished in its original code 531 Beige Grey over black interior. Post restoration, the car has remained in the caring hands of private ownership who enjoyed the car and ensured its proper upkeep. Today, the car remains in excellent condition cosmetically and mechanically. The exterior paint, trim and bright work are excellent. The interior retains some originality and shows very good, under the bonnet and boot are clean and tidy. Mechanically, the car is spot on. It is a spirited driver that pulls strong and even to its top end. The suspension is tight and responsive and the car brakes well and straight.
