I bought this car a few years ago because of its originality. I was going to fix a few of the little needs it has but I never got around to it. I never even ended up registering it, I currently have a collection of 6 Datsuns so I don’t have time to get to this one this winter. Its in incredibly good and mostly unmodified original shape. I have had dozens of 240Z and have never seen one with so many original components like hose clamps, original kioto headlights, working dash lights, radio, battery cover, etc. While I don't have any receipts or documentation it’s not unlikely that the 62K indicated miles is original. Body is in very nice condition, the interior is really just about perfect with no cracks in the dash. Each seat has had a vinyl seam separate and looks like its repaired. It could easily win a local concours or car show. It has original steel wheels and hubcaps, all original interior and engine bay looks very original also.
Here are the known issues that I was going to repair: Power antenna is stuck, the exhaust is kind ratty but all there, the frame rail has an odd rust spot. Not up front where they are bad on many cars but back at the end under the floor pan. I’ve never seen this but its minor and I have the repair piece if you want it. I've included pictures of all the common rust areas that happen on the 240Z's and as you can see they are solid and unrepaired on this car.
