1972 Datsun Z-Series 240z Additional Info:
Up for sale is a 1972 Datsun 240z. Car came from a friend who owned it for the last 40+ years (I believe he was the original owner), hasn't been registered in over 30 years. Upon his passing I was given the car. Unfortunately over the past 30 years, the car didn't always move around with him and the parts he removed with the intent of painting the car, also didn't stay with the car.
The car is an excellentSTARTfor project rod, Structural reinforcement already done with the 6-point roll bar.. Car has been stripped down with the intent to complete painting, but never made it that far.
Set up for SBC, with themotor in it (327 with 2.02 heads) ran previously to my knowledge, but hasn't run in 30+ years, I'd tear it down and go through it, or use another. 4 Speed transmission.
This project would be ideal for someone with a donor car or with the resources to complete.
Here's a huge high-point, there is no body rot (undercarriage may look like it in pics, but has paint coming off factory sealing), floor boards are solid, battery tray, posts, and tail are all free of rot. I tried to include common rot areas to show just how good of a condition this car is in.
Subframe rails areSTRAIGHT and without dents and dingsthat every other Z car has from decades of driving and hitting rocks, debris, etc.
Long wheel studs, believe it had wheel spacers behind the wide BBS wheels
No interior, but the Datsun dash is without cracks, no longer have doors, glass, etc.
Misc parts, anything I have for it goes with it
One piece fiberglass front (fenders, nose, bumper)
Fuel cell set up, needs completion.
Buyer will need a trailer and is responsible for pickup.
No BS,car needs a lot of partsbut it has been the baby of someone for many years, and it shows, it's straight and sturdy.
I have spent time in the DMV and confirmed that the car is no longer in the system....at all. DMV just needs to physically verify the VIN in order to produce a title.
