1975 Datsun pickup 620 otherwise known as "The Little Hustler" shipped to NY from salt free Oregon. I still have the Oregon farm license plates. Truck is solid and has been reliable. Recent mechanical work and new parts. Patina throughout. Current clean NY title in my name with economical classic insurance through Hagerty. Stored in my garage.
Body is SOLID. Mostly original paint and patina (I think hood has second coat of paint). Gets thumbs up all around town. No rust through in bed, bed sides, rockers or cab. Surface corrosion present. Tailgate is great open and closes at it should. No major bashes or dents and limited dings on body. There is a pinhole rust hole in driver's floor but remainder of driver's floor sheetmetal is still thick no repair needed. I am a believer in leaving things original, which is the draw to this truck. Undercarriage is solid.
Interior vinyl floor mat is in great shape. There is no boot heel hole through the floor mat which sometimes signifies minimal drive time. This truck is off of a farm. Odometer reads 19,000 miles. Hard to tell if it is 19,000 miles or 119,000 miles. Based on condition of vinyl floor mat and driver's arm rest I believe it is a low milage truck but cannot verify. The original cover on the bench seat is completely worn through on driver's side which shows use. So I am unsure of milage. The vintage seat cover is in great shape, sanitary, clean and rip free. Interior is all original and in very good condition including the cream white headliner. The gauges and AM radio work. The headlight and windshield wiper buttons illuminate, dash gauges illuminate, parking brake light,...
Truck has new tires. The steel wheels were painted grey before my purchase. Chrome hubcaps in really nice shape.
Mechanically the truck has been gone through. The battery is new. Battery terminals new. The Weber 32/36 carburetor is new. The brake master cylinder, clutch master, and clutch flywheel are new. Recent starter. New made in Japan ignition wires. Truck fires right up and idles right - purrs through all gears. A pleasure to drive around town. Tracts straight. Motor is a 2.0 liter. 4 speed manual transmission. The pollution control has been removed.
I am in the process of replacing a broken front turn signal lens under the front bumper driver's side. Also my mechanic has to tidy up the ignition wires with some period correct wire looms. Also it drips a couple of small drops oil per month, nothing worth repairing. There is rust hole through inner fender under battery tray I suspect from an old leaking battery acid. Again, not worth fixing battery holder is solid.
Pick up bed floor showing heaviest corrosion but no rust through very solid throughout. The "ribs" on bed floor and tailgate are not all bashed up signifying gentle use.
Price is $7,700.00 or best offer. Not giving this away hard pressed to find another one with this patina.
