1964 Datsun Other Additional Info:
This 1964 Datsun L320 pickup is being offered for sale from a private collection, and has been in Arizona for about 7 years. Prior to that, it was owned by a collector in the Las Vegas area for nearly 30 years.
The truck is a true survivor, wearing its original paint, chrome bumpers, hubcaps, emblems, and stainless trim. The original engine has not been modified, and Datsun enthusiasts will recognize the great patina and light wear on this rare truck.
The original Datsun rubber floor mat is present and intact. The door panels are original, and although intact, could be recovered with new vinyl. They are original dove grey with red pockets. The seat has been reupholstered in a matching grey fabric, and has been covered with a blanket (pictured) to protect it.
The truck starts and drives well, with a 4-speed manual transmission. In fact, she just made a 200-mile drive down from Flagstaff without incident. She lost her mechanical fuel pump several years back, and was equipped with an electric fuel pump for cold starts. However, a mechanical pump could easily be refitted for historical accuracy.
The mileage is believed to be accurate, and the mechanical condition certainly supports this. This truck somehow avoided falling prey to the rust issues that plagued so may early Japanese vehicles, and her undercarriage is solid.
I am a long-time Datsun enthusiast and collector, and very knowledgeable about the early 60's Datsun lineup (I also own a '63 NL320 and a '63 Bluebird). The winning buyer will be proud to display this truck at any classic event, show, or cruise.
Please peruse the supplied photos for a better view of the details and condition of this collectible Datsun. [Full disclosure: I am not the owner of this truck, but have agreed to assist the owner, who wishes to remain anonymous.]
