1972 Datsun Z-Series Coupe Additional Info:
Nice early car with original paint, solid core and only minor spots to touch up. Paint has a nice shine and patina and metal is virtually rust free with only a couple small areas to tend to at the bottom of the fenders and quarters. We had our body guy look at it and he said the 240Z patch panels were very cheap and a paint blend would be easy and cheap. They are near impossible to find without a least a dab or two of some rust and this car is overall super clean. Check out the underside and the rockers. Super clean, there is a very small quarter sized spot of rust of the drivers floor. No issues at the strut towers or the windshield channels. Engine starts right up and settles into idle well. Revs nicely with no knocks or ticks. Original carbs, original engine, original trans. 1 prior owner with records as well. Could use a clutch in the future or perhaps just an adjustment. Drives fine, pedal seems to just let up a bit higher than others. Original glass. Interior presents well with a minor split in the passenger and some worn carpet under the mats. Vinyl on the trans tunnel and trunk in nice shape. Power brakes, AM/FM radio and power antenna. Has AC, but no belt on the compressor. Low mileage and prior owner said the odometer has not rolled over. Great car to drive around and tinker and enjoy. These cars are going for crazy money restored now, with a nice 1973 (less desirable) just selling for ~$30k at online auction last month in the same color. Great time to buy and spend a little to net a lot! Feel free to ask me any questions at all.
Residents around the country I am happy to be flexible for your arranged shipper so that you can get your new car as soon as possible. My standard disclaimer/mantra for any car regardless of service or price: The car is sold with no warranty. You are buying a used car. Eventually every car will break, if you find one that doesn't please let me know. I am not a dealer, just a guy who loves Datsun (among other cars) and hope to pass along my passion and fervor for these cars. That said if ever you encounter an issue I do my best to provide advice, direction or even parts if I have them. Please understand that it is a used car and will have minor signs of use. That means please do not expect a showroom brand new car. Please adjust your expectation level to that of a 65,000 mile car with some light restoration needs, but however is above average for it's year. This is solid miles for 240Z of this year, but please just remember that no 44 year old car is perfect. It is though a clean, nice Z! Please only bid if you intend to buy. If you would like to have an Ebay 3rd party mechanic service check out the car I MORE than welcome it. Please have the car checked out before bidding and not after, if you intend to use that service. And please, if you would like to utilize this service, contact me with more than a couple days left in the auction so we can arrange schedules. Please check your local laws and registration procedures before buying. Buying over the internet can be scary sometimes! I get it, because I am an enthusiast too!! For that very reason, I am more than happy to answer every and any question you may so you know 100% what you are buying. But, please ask any and all questions ahead of purchase! It is impossible to list every pro and con on a car, I am not an inspection service. All sales are final, you are buying as-is, the sky is blue, etc, etc. Sorry to have to give the boring speech. Please feel free to ask any and all questions!!
