1954 Citroen Traction Avant Chrome Additional Info:

This car arrived in the USA on January 21, 1980. It was purchased in France in 1979. A photo shows the then all black car with its red and brown leather upholstery. It was garaged in New York City.

It was restored in New York from 1993 to 1996. Over 100 photos, and 20 restoration work invoices are available for viewing. A brief listing of what was done:(1) Front chassis removed from carriage (2) Chassis, firewall, engine area cleaned of rust, painted with rust inhibitor, and painted enamel black. (3) Exterior rusted areas around trunk cut out, replaced or repaired welded in place then rust proofed and painted maroon. (4) Engine dismantled and completely restored. (5) Exterior and interior of Gas tank restored. (6)Timing chain restored. (7) Water pump rebuilt and restored. (8) Dynamo restored. (9) Fuel pump restored. (10) Radiator flushed cleaned and restored. (11) Stainless steel fuel lines installed. (12)Stainless steel brake lines installed. (13) New stainless steel exhaust system and muffler installed. (14) New brake pads all around.(15) New master cylinder. (16) New regulator. (18) All new wiring throughout. Invoice cost: $35,000. In 1996 the car was placed in storage. It sat there until I purchased it in April 2018.

Prior to car restoration the odometer indicated 35252 kilometers (21,904 miles). However, the 824 current mileage was accumulated AFTER total engine restoration. And began when car was taken out of 22 years in storage in April 2018. In May 2018 radiator, brake lines, fuel lines, engine, transmission, gas tank were professionally drained, inspected and replaced with new liquids and lubricants. In August five wheels were powder coated white enamel. New Citroen certified Michelin tires and tubes were installed. In September 2018 new brake drums were installed on front wheels. All wheels were professionally balanced. Camber and Toe were done for front wheels. New rubber windshield and trunk weatherstripping were installed.

The car rides smoothly. Drives straight. Tight steering. Excellent braking. Quick starting. Snappy pickup.
Car was garaged in storage from February 1996 to April 2018. Since April 2018, the car has added 824 miles.
