Walter P had some pretty forward thinkers under his command at Chrysler, and when the boys learned that he was planning his retirement, they went a little wild in the design department. The Air Flow Chrysler was a groundbreaking and controversial automobile, and was one of the first full size passenger sedans to utilize wind resistance as a performance and economy enhancer, hence the name "Air Flow." Rumor has it the original design was derived from literally turning the car around and running it in reverse in the wind tunnel. Reportedly, the finished product was seen to be so ugly, Walter P went from full time retirement to part time, just to "straighten the boys out." Although production wasn't limited, very few survived through time. It was said that many found their way to early retirement as well.....Hey, we're just the messenger, and besides, that made them all the more rare!! So moving on to 1937 and the newly designed Air Flow, which is argued by many to be one of the most attractive automobiles of the 30's. Call Jim for info 904-669-8668
