1956 Chrysler 300B Hardtop

Listed on behalf of the owner.

The Chrysler 300Bs were the fastest American production cars on the road in 1956. They set records at Daytona including a top speed of 133.9 mph. The combination of power and luxury was unbeatable.

This particular car (#2001 - the 1,000th of the 1,102 made) was originally owned by a U.S. Air Force General, who divided his time between his home in Arizona and duties in Washington D.C. No doubt drawn to the 300B for its speed, he would occasionally drive the car cross-county to the capitol. Eventually, the car was sold to the second owner in Washington state. In the early 1990's, this low-mileage, rust-free 300B underwent a very high-level, concours-quality restoration. Everything was done at that time including paint, chrome, interior reupholstery and engine rebuild. Fitted with new, NOS Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels. Loaded with factory options including Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Front Seat, Power Windows and AIR CONDITIONING. Shortly after the completion of the restoration it was acquired by the current owner in Portland, Oregon who added it to his significant collection of cars in his private museum, where it has remained for over 20 years with limited use.

Recently the car was mechanically refreshed with full tune-up and service. It runs beautifully today, with just 75,500 miles on the odometer, and approximately 1,000 miles since the rebuild and restoration. The rebuilt 354 cubic inch V8 runs beautifully. The car presents nicely with only slight signs of patina from display and storage. Excellent paint, trim and interior. Please see photos.

It starts easily, runs smoothly with plenty of power. The push-button Torqueflite automatic transmission shifts easily. All gauges work. Power steering. Brakes stop the car smooth and straight. A kick to drive. See video.

If you are looking for a 300B for show or go, this is it.
