CONTACT JEFF AT 570 977 0741. Up for sale and your consideration is a really cool 1928 Chrysler 2 door sedan that was built in the rat rod style but is not really a rat rod. It was designed, engineered, and built by a well known northeast rod builder who started with a solid body and frame, and not a pile of junk that sat in a farmer's field or scrap yard for decades. It is turn key reliable, fast, loud, Pennsylvania inspected, and can be driven anywhere. Please take the time to look over all 24 photos that I have listed here. If any prospective buyer has any questions as to the integrity of this build, and functioning of the car, then I welcome and encourage an in person viewing, by appointment to answer any and all questions that you may have. Also all inspections will take place on the car before the purchase, not after. The specifications are as follows:
BODY: 1928 Chrysler 2 door sedan chopped, channeled with a new roof installed. All new glass with power front windows and custom designed sliding rear windows. A new floor was installed. Dash was signed in 2008by "Big Daddy" Don Garlits, famed legendary drag racing champion.
FRAME: 1929 Chrysler narrowed to accomodate the body. Underside photos show the quality of the build.
INTERIOR: Interior is simple but efficient. Early chevy van front seats and full length rear seat provide adequate headroom and comfort. It is well equipped with a full array of Stewart Warner gauges, wipers, AM/FM CD player radio with remote, vintage wolf whistle, heater, "aoogah" horn and power front windows.
DIFFERENTIAL: 9" Ford with 3:00 to 1 ratio.
FRONT AXLE: 36 Plymouth
BRAKES: Ford with Buick finned aluminum drums front and rear.
STEERING: Dodge D-50 power steering. Column is a 50 Ford pickup.
ENGINE: The engine is the star of the show. It is a crate engine purchased many moons ago to replace a 1957 392-275 Hp two fours engine. It has a nice cam, solid lifters and adjustable rockers. It was orginally purchased with a super rare Latham blower on top equipped with four side draft carburetors. It was sold to a buyer who made an offer that couldn't be refused. Engine is currently topped with a 1957 4 barrel intake adapted to accept the new 750 CFM Edelbrock carb, this car is fast!
TRANSMISSON: 1964 torqueflite with push button gear selection and lever accuated park.
WHEELS AND TIRES: 35 Ford 16" wires, 5" front with Coker bias look 600R16 radials. Rears have been widened to accomodate the 750R16. Coker bias look radials.
This car runs, shifts, stops and drives great thanks to the power steering. Being equipped with a good heater, your geographic location is not an issue. A real car person is well aware of the time and talent that went into this build and the rarity and desirability of a 392 Hemi. This is a serious car and I am a serious seller. My long term 100% feedback speaks for itself. Low ballers, traders and story tellers need not waste their time or mine.
