1985 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Additional Info:
You are looking at my 1985 Chevy Monte Carlo SS. This is a real SS. It has factory T-tops, power windows, power locks, aftermarket CD player radio, etc. The original 305 was removed, and it now has a 5.7L 350 engine. The engine specs are: 4 bolt main 350 block, bored .030 over to 355ci, forged pistons, high volume oil pump, double roller timing chain, Comp Cams Magnum 280/480 hydraulic camshaft, brand new Blueprint aluminum cylinder heads with 2.02/1.60 valves, Comp Cams roller rockers, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold, Demon 650 carb, new HEI distributor, new MSD 9mm ignition wires, Edelbrock valve covers, new 14" K&N air cleaner, new Holley high volume fuel pump, 1 5/8" mid length headers, dual exhaust with high flow cats, and Flowmaster 50 Series mufflers. When I put the motor in, I replaced all of the battery cables, battery, starter, water pump, belts, etc. I also installed a new aluminum radiator and a brand new transmission cooler. The transmission is a 200R-4 overdrive unit that was completely re-built by Freddy Brown Transmissions in NY. It was a high performance re-build, with a shift kit and a mild stall converter. The rear end has an Eaton posi unit and 3.73 gears.
I just added brand new 17" retro torque thrust wheels, they are 8" in the front, and 10" deep dish in the back. They have extremely high quality, high performance Nitto NT555 tires. It has a high quality real deal steel cowl induction hood also. The rear brakes and wheel cylinders were replaced last year, and the front brakes and rotors were just checked, and are in great condition. There is no rot on this car, the rear frame rails are in great shape, the floor pans are solid, this car is not a rot box. It was re-painted 5 years ago, and still looks excellent. It is not perfect, but it is very, very nice. It has one small bubble on the trunk lid, I took a pic of it, and it has a couple other imperfections that are not major, like a small ding on the hood. It is adult owned, and garage kept. It is not a show car, it is a very nice driver. Most of these cars are in very poor shape, this one is a survivor. It is a 31 year old hot rod, please be reasonable.
The interior seats were re-done by the previous owner in black leather, they are in very nice shape. The headliner is in great shape and was replaced years ago. The carpets were also replaced and look like new. The rest of the interior is very nice and shows minimal wear, please see the pics.
The car runs and drives great, always starts right up, is very fast with that aluminum headed 355, and it sounds amazing with the Flowmaster exhaust. The car does not have tailpipes, I like the way it sounds without them, you can add them if you desire. Also the heater core was leaking, so it is bypassed right now. I don't drive it in cold weather, this car is just a weekend toy for me, I have a bunch of cars. The heater core is $26.00 from Rockauto, not a big deal to put the heat back in if needed. The blower motor and the controls work fine. The A/C was removed by the previous owner as well.
If you are looking for a clean Monte SS, check mine out. If you want to see it, I'd love to show it to you, just e-mail me and we will set it up. Please check my perfect feedback and bid with confidence, I have described the car to the best of my ability. Thank you!
