1948 Chevrolet Pickup Deluxe 5 Window Cab Additional Info:

1948 Chevy Five Window Deluxe Cab, straight six engine, 4 speed manual transmission. All original and in need of work / restoration. The engine does turn over by hand. The odometer is hard to read, but appears to show 49,999 miles. I love it and had big plans. Life happens, will be moving and won’t have room, so someone else will need to bring this 48 back to life.

Vehicle Details

For sale is a 1948 Chevrolet Pickup, with Five Window Deluxe Cab, 6 cylinder engine and 4 speed transmission. I was able to do a little research on the vehicle history and found that it was originally a department store delivery truck in Wisconsin. The store logo on the driver’s door had been painted over, but is partially visible.

The truck has rust issues and NO TITLE. It will come with a bill of sale and all historical documents as shown in pictures. There is no selection on eBay to put “no title”, just clean or salvage. Again, there is rust (see pictures) and NO title. If still interested, read on.

Specific production numbers for the 1948 Chevrolet Five-Window Deluxe Cab are not readily available, but it was part of a larger total production for the Advanced Design trucks. In 1948, Chevy produced a total of 178,557 commercial vehicles, which included all truck series like the 3100, 3600, and 3800. The five-window cab (Deluxe Cab) was a feature introduced for better visibility during this model year.

Total Commercial Vehicle Production: The total production for all 1948 Chevrolet commercial vehicles was 178,557. This number is a sum of all truck series, not just the half-ton, five-window models.

Five-Window Cab (Deluxe Cab): The five-window design was introduced in 1947 as part of the Advanced Design truck series to eliminate the blind spots in the rear quarter panels of the cab.

Please see pictures for condition. This is a currently non-driving, non- running 1948 pickup in need of substantial work. The engine does turn over by hand and is not stuck. The odometer appears to show 49,999 miles (see pic) Judging by the license plate, it was last on the road in 1983. It is a rough gem to the right buyer. All four tires hold air. Buyer will need to arrange pick up and transport. I will assist the transport driver in moving and loading on this end.
