As with any high caliber classic, his Chevy's paint and bodywork is first-rate throughout. Its original Tuxedo Black finish was accurately duplicated, ncluding white stripes that have been buried under glossy clear for killer, how car looks. That paint highlights a roster of steel which, hen combined with its clean frame, ocuments a history of no rust or damage. That steel's reboot is extremely well done, eaturing finish work that's befitting an ultra-rare show queen. And naturally, verything was carefully color-sanded and buffed to a mirror-like shine.
Many enthusiasts believe the '70 Chevelle introduced a host of excellent refinements which transformed the 'good' design of Chevrolet's '69 model into something 'great'. At the front of this black rocket you'll find a familiar crossbar grille which hangs a fresh and prominent "SS" emblem between a small "CHEVELLE" script, our stainless-trimmed T3s and a fresh chrome bumper. Above that bumper, functional cowl induction hood anchors traditional lanyards and rebuilt hide-a-way wipers at the base of like-new glass that's framed by pristine stainless trim and a correct black top. At the base of that trim, ubtle red and white inlayed "SS454" badges combine with straight stainless wheel frames, raditional chrome door handles and flashy chrome mirrors to add visual detail to the car's liquid smooth profile. And at the back of that profile, second chrome bumper hangs a black Super Sport inlay between clear brake lights, fresh "Chevelle by Chevrolet" trunk emblem and spotless chrome exhaust tips.
Although the 1970 Chevelle Super Sport's ferocious LS6 Turbo Jet V8 was conservatively rated at 450 horsepower, t likely punched the dyno somewhere north of 500. And naturally, s a well done tribute, his coupe's era-correct big block wears a correct 3963512 casting number, ooks good enough to fool all but the most enlightened classic car fans, nd performs well enough to scare the hell out of anyone brave enough to bury its gas pedal. Give the lanyards a solid pull and you'll find a fully functional cowl induction system that's cleanly integrated into a completely finished, atin black hood. At the center of that cowl induction system a correctly decaled, ingle snorkel air cleaner forces oxygen into a coated Holley carburetor which rides on a correct Winter intake. At the sides of the Packard TVR wires, n attractive pair of stock exhaust manifolds swirl spent gases into a great sounding true dual exhaust system. And at the front of that exhaust system, eproduction GM hoses channel water to and from the radiator with the help of old school tower clamps. Aesthetically, rom its fresh reproduction Delco Energizer battery and new brake booster to its clean stainless lines and highly accurate decals, his Chevelle's engine bay is nicer than anything that left GM's factories.
The theme of 'road ready' also extends under this fully restored Super Sport where you'll find super clean floors and a rebuilt, actory-accurate chassis. Behind the stout engine, rugged Muncie 4-speed rockcrusher M22, hat wears a correct 661 case, ends power to a 12-bolt, osi-traction rear end that's equipped with correct 3.31 posi-gears. Holding that killer drivetrain off the ground is a correct option F41 double A-arm front and 4-link rear suspension that's equipped with factory power steering, eavy duty sway bars and stiffer springs. The car's rebuilt power front disc and rear drum brake system is present, ccounted for and functions exceptionally well. The aforementioned exhaust manifolds dump spent gases into high performance, rue-dual pipes that mix chamberer mufflers with traditional, ear-mounted resonators. And power flows to the pavement via stylish Super Sport wheels and correct F70-14 Goodyear Polyglas Wide Tread tires. The car's frame, ree of any major damage, s painted black to match its solid red floors. And, n keeping with its raucous 454, uch attention has been paid to making sure everything under this Chevelle is clean, ean and ready to go!
Featuring a host of new components, nd decked in classic red vinyl, his coupe's correctly restored interior is both comfortable and inviting. Its slick front bucket and rear bench seats, hich feature embossed weave patterns that were designed to keep passenger's backs cool, how hardly any signs of wear. In front of those seats, straight and crack-free dash hangs a deluxe Chevelle gauge cluster above correct climate controls and a snazzy 8-track stereo. Below that dash, resh red carpet, hich is protected by rugged rubber floor mats, enters a chrome Muncie shifter inside an attractive, tainless-trimmed console. At the sides of that carpet, lean door panels hang spotless stainless trim, rerequisite SS emblems and pliable armrests. In front of the driver, red-rimmed Rally wheel keeps everybody pointed in the right direction. And behind the passengers, fully restored trunk centers a full-size spare tire and correct jack assembly between a fresh mat and correct decklid decals.
Overall, his glossy black Chevy is the total package. With a king-of-the-mountain big block and legendary Muncie 4-speed, t was and still remains an excellent example of 'bragging rights' muscle. If you're ready for some first class firepower in your automotive arsenal, on't miss the chance to take home this spectacular Chevelle Super Sport!
