1955 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Additional Info:

This sale is for a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 4 Door Sedan. Been in long term storage since the mid 1980s. Originally from Virginia and then brought to Maine where it came from a body shop that had taken it completely apart. When we received it, it was missing many of its parts. We sourced out as much as we could to put it back together. Still needs a few items such as fuel tank, fuel door, a few outer trim pieces, hood hinges. We have all the moldings for around the windows and interior trim parts which are in the trunk. The car has a 1959 283 4 BBL Motor with Power Glide Automatic Transmission but motor has stuck since sitting for so long. We did pull the heads and the inside of the motor is quite clean. Piston on the passenger side has corrosion and that is what is holding so we put it back together exactly the way we took it apart. We wanted to send it out to get it running but our shop is three to four months out before they can take in anymore work. Car has new shocks, exhaust, brake lines and front end parts. We added brake fluid to the master cylinder and got the brakes somewhat working. I'm sure they will need to be bled properly. The body on the car is reasonably solid. Two front floor pans were replaced, otherwise everything else is original and solid. Rockers inner and outer are solid. Trunk pan up by the shock area has some older repair work and a shock bar was added. Outside body is real decent but there are some dings and dangs as to be expected on something this age. Interior is all intact except for carpet. We replaced all the glass, door mechanisms, etc. The rear window needs a new gasket seal. We have a new one for the front windshield. The front windshield came with the car when we bought it but turns out it is for a 2 door hard top and convertible. Just a hair different than the Sedan windshield. We taped it in place to keep the weather out and I'm sure it can be swapped for a Sedan windshield. I'm probably forgetting something so feel free to call us with any of your concerns. If you need a title in your state we are willing to register the car in our name and with that and our proper dealer transfer paperwork you will receive a title in your state. It is a work in progress but priced fairly for what it is. Wheels and tires are an extra $600 otherwise I will put on a set of rollers.
