I know because I was in high school and remember all of the excitement when the first one finally appeared in the showroom. WOW! It looked just like the predicted Mako-Shark derived from the show car. While the Mid -Years will always be iconic, the Third-Generation cars, especially the Chrome Bumper ones are loved by many as evidenced by the continuous rise in their prices. Many were amazed by the Big- Block cars, but the small block powered ones almost always displayed their ability to keep up with the big boys, but have an edge in handling because of the lessened weight over the long front.
