1957 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Additional Info:
For sale is my 1957 Chevy Townsman 210 4-door station wagon. I bought this car locally. I was looking for a Nomad but saw this and liked the look. I bought it with a locked 235 Six Cylinder but quickly obtained a good running 235 from a six cylinder sedan. I collected some trim and pulled the head to check the cylinders. I believe the original motor has an issue with a rod. The motor in the car is locked. The motor on the stand is the running 235 six.
I never started on this car and have only had for 6 months. The reason is I found my Nomad a few short weeks ago.
Id save this for later but unfortunately have a medical condition - not curable, far too common these days - the emperor of all maladies as they call it :(
Time is a precious commodity and keeping stuff around that I wont ever get to work on is foolish. I wont start on the Nomad until this is sold. The price is what I have in it. I am not trying to make money, just find it a good home.
It has new brakes and a serviceable exhaust. The tires are good. The floors are average to below average. It needs work on the body supports. However the frame and spring perches are good. I planned on getting this running and knocking around town. While it needs work underneath, in no way is this a rotbox with the bottom dropping out. It is a serviceable old car that you can drive once you have a good engine in it. It does have some mud in the doglegs behind rear doors and the rockers need work, inner and outer; they show evidence of mud. The door bottoms are ok. Some bubbles on the outside. Again my reserve is low.
I am including a running 235. I replaced a valve, painted the block and installed a new gasket kit. I am buttoning it up now. It also comes with a complete powerglide and bell housing. Both out of a 57 Sedan.
The Chevy has skirts and miscellaneous trim. Its a complete car. It has 15" chrome rallyes but no center caps or trim rings.
No trades. I just need to find it an owner so i can start in on my Nomad.
Shipping is the winners responsibility. No warranties stated or implied. Vehicle is sold used and as is.
Good luck bidders.
