1957 Chevrolet Corvette Additional Info:

This 1957 Chevrolet Corvette has been terrifically restored with the kind of shine that instantly gets your nostalgia going. But as you dig deeper, you're going to see some terrific but subtle upgrades that really enhance the driving experience, including a serious boost in V8 power and four-wheel disc brakes.

The '57 Corvette represents the most iconic look of the first generation. It has the single headlight design, rounded rear fenders with a hint of tailfin, and exhaust tips tastefully poking out of the rear bodywork - that's all part of that original style we love from the first years. But the Corvette also evolved by 1957. It was a sleeker design with scalloped side coves, and you could really show them off in two-tone. And that toothy grille got even brighter. It's this advancement of the original icon that makes the car so special, and exactly why it received an expert restoration less than 3,300 miles ago. They took their time applying the glossy Onyx Black and the result is deep shine that loves to highlight all those iconic curves. The gray inserts are one of the most tasteful ways to have a two-tone. In fact, this one has style, right down to the whitewall tires. Plus, you get to choose between a snug-fitting black soft convertible top or a rounded color-matched hardtop that gives this the silhouette of a well-done coupe.

As much as we like the way either back roof looks, the real treat is when neither one of them is in place. Red interiors always look amazing on black cars, and this one had quality Al Knoch components installed during the restoration. It really gets the look fresh and correct, right down the bucket seat pattern that matches the door inserts. The steering wheel looks awesome in red, too, and its ridges have that great thin/grippy feel that only came on the right cars of this era. The red dash looks like a race-ready setup, right down to the center-mounted tach. Even the trunk has a bold red matting! While this has a high degree of originality everywhere you look, there is one well-integrated upgrade. The original AM radio is in place, but the real tunes come from a well-hidden AM/FM/CD stereo. After all, top-down Sunday drives require the ideal choice of music.

When you first peek under the hood, the large polished air topper and cursive Corvette script valve covers give this the right vintage appearance. But a closer look reveals something much more. You could get a dual-quad V8 setup in the '57, but this one has been fully upgraded. It's a modern 350 cubic-inch crate motor. And this fresh V8 is topped with dual Edelbrock four-barrel carburetors. The full package is said to produce 385 horsepower, which is over 100 hp greater than even the best '57 Fuelies! This upgraded power gets announced with confidence through the glasspack-style dual exhaust. Best of all, you have complete control of the enhanced power and rumbling soundtrack thanks to the four-speed manual transmission. And speaking of control, the four-wheel disc brake upgrade really feels right on this enhanced C1.

The full restoration on this one was done by Jamison Corvette, and they really created a powerful and fresh package (even the undercarriage photos look fantastic.) So if you love a sleek classic with serious power, call today!
