1968 Chevrolet C-10 -- Additional Info:
There's an awful lot to love in this 1968 Chevrolet C10 pickup. Great color combination, big block power, perfect stance, and a revised interior that makes it easy to love. If you've been searching for a do-it-all weekend warrior, this truck should be your leading candidate.
It's safe to say that these trucks are insanely popular. They never last long on the showroom floor, and if you've even been to a show, you know that they're starting to show up in ever larger numbers. However, when this black stepside rolls in, people stop and notice. Perhaps it's the threatening rumble of the big block, but it's also likely to be the handsome black paint job that coats one of the best-looking pickups ever built. The regular cab/stepside bed combination has a muscular look thanks to those rounded fenders, and details like the cowl induction hood, smooth tailgate, and rear roll pan only help. It fits together quite well overall, and with a painted diamond plate bed, it's also practical. A few chrome trim pieces highlight the interesting areas of the truck, from the square-jawed front end to the billet grille inserts to the neat mirrors that extend away from the doors. Admit it: you love the way this truck looks.
The black interior is equally nice, with a custom vinyl and cloth seat cover that helps hold you in place while you drive. The gauges and bezel around them are original, but there's a trio of auxiliary dials in the center stack, neatly installed where the original radio used to live. The radio itself is now in the custom center console, and it's a modern Jensen AM/FM/CD head unit with a bit of storage installed underneath as well as a pair of cup holders. Ice cold factory A/C keeps things cool without straining the big block, and tinted windows help keep things cool, too. A Grant GT steering wheel works rather well with the upgraded upholstery and even the door panels have cloth inserts and custom stitching to make them look right in the upgraded interior.
The reason is simple: 454 cubic inches of big block thunder. With an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold and a big 4-barrel carb, throttle response is instantaneous and if you're not careful, you'll turn those fat rear tires into expensive tire smoke without even trying. It looks very slick in the black engine bay thanks to a set of matching black valve covers, aluminum radiator, and a block-hugging serpentine belt drive system for the accessories. It's almost like GM built it that way. Ceramic-coated long-tube headers and a throaty Flowmaster exhaust system sound awesome with the tips right under the rear roll pan. A TH400 3-speed automatic transmission shifts without hesitation the moment your foot hits the carpet and the 12-bolt rear end means that durability won't be an issue. The chassis shows the usual signs of use, but there's nothing here that will stop you from getting in right now and having some fun. Those shiny new American Racing wheels sparkle against the black paint and wear brand new 255/60/17 front and 275/60/17 rear Toyo Proxes STIII's that ride and handle great.
This is one of those trucks that looks so good most folks wouldn't care what lived under the hood. Fortunately, this big block needs no excuses so the truck drives every bit as great as it looks. Call today!
