This 1970 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS is the kind of classics we're all hunting for. After all, it's not only a real-deal Rally Sport and Super Sport, but also it has many of these features in a survivor-style presentation. Even the V8 is the numbers-matching unit! But the shine of the paint also tells you there have been the right investments along the way, too. This was the year the Camaro really changed the game. The debut of... the second generation showcased a long hood, short deck machine that was built for owning the streets. The front air dam and full-width rear spoiler added to this look. And this was the first year for the now-iconic split-bumper RS front end that made way for the unobstructed blacked-out grille. So it really looks like it just wants to consume all the lesser cars. Plus, this one has some added aggression with a few nice period-correct upgrades like the dark five-spoke wheels and dual stripes borrowed from the Z/28 package. But this Camaro has something extra going for it, too. The factory-correct Classic Copper paint has been given a professional respray that really makes it pop when the sunshine finds the sheetmetal. And the white vinyl top not only looks great against the upgraded white stripes, but also it's believed to be original. So it's a premium piece that tells part of this classic coupe's full history. The sandalwood interior and tan carpeting have a nice tone against the exterior copper and white. And the wood-like accents are a great classic touch. So it's great to have such a highly original interior. In fact, this has a ton of desirable features, and they all seem to be original. So GM fans will marvel at everything from the headrest in the low-back bucket seats to the AM/FM stereo. Open the hood for a true lesson in survivor cars. The original numbers-matching 350 cubic-inch V8 looks great with the correct Chevy orange on the block and valve covers. And so many of the details are correct, too, right down to the factory decals. But this has also been maintained along the way. Fresher hoses, nice wires, a newer brake booster are part of a package that lets you understand why this one runs so well. The V8 inhales deeply with the proper Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor, and it makes a sweet sound out of a newer dual exhaust. And more than just a collectable classic, this is also an excellent cruiser. The power brakes w/discs up front, power steering, and three-speed automatic transmission (believed original), all make for an easy vintage driving experience. Complete with owner's manual and a reproduction buildsheet, this is the first-year second-gen Camaro with that RS/SS packaging we all want. So when something this authentic is up for grabs, it's time to take notice. Call today!!!
